I solemnly ask non-Asian & non-English Macross fans not to pledge on Uta Macross. It's claimed that the game won't be released outside Japan, and Big West's behavior since the 2021 worldwide agreement clearly shows that they couldn’t care less about you as an audience. Don’t be taken in.

I'm the bad guy who deserves to be blocked, but daily reminder that Macross Frontier is still unavailable in Spain, and by extension, in whole Europe, because Disney+ don't want to release Macross stuff across more regions and languages. With or without Big West's blessing, who knows.

Big West sure got some nerve asking for overseas help to bring back Uta Macross when they bowed down to Disney+ decision not to release Macross sequels in most of the world. And with oversea rewards shipping in the US only and a region-locked game. Yeah, hard pass.

It was reported that Disney+ added 3 more subtitles languages to the Macross franchise : Thai, Malay and Indonesian have joined English, Chinese and Korean subs. Still a bitter failure with content unavailable in most of the world, particularly in all Europe, Latin America and Middle East.

2021 : Big West announced a Macross worldwide agreement allowing most of the franchise to be released outside Japan. 2026 : Most of the world still can't watch any Macross entry legally. End of the joke.

I guess the Macross - Funko collab is what remains when you have nothing left. Streaming on Disney+ is overall a failure with content restricted to a small part of the world (85% of territories are excluded, which is a terrible and never seen ratio), Blu-rays take ages to be released...

The Macross franchise is still awfully handled outside Japan, with content only available in Asia and English territories for no reason, yet their priority is to release Funko Pops. Yeah sure.

Good news, although it will totally overshadow the core issue : Macross sequels remain unwatchable in most of the world.

If I remember correctly, AX 2025 announcements were : - Macross anime content expansion across more regions and languages ASAP ❌ - Macross Frontier & Delta BD release US/UK/FR ❌ - Macross Frontier manga release in the US ❌ Hope someone will again record the panel and upload it. It could be funny.

What "wider world" for Macross ? Almost everything's occurring in Asia and English-speaking territories only since the worldwide agreement nearly five years ago. Another missed opportunity to point this out. It's really hopeless.

At the 38th Tokyo Film Festival, we were able to speak with Shōji Kawamori about this upcoming feature film, Labyrinth (and also about Macross finally being released across the wider world).

Just edited Macross general English page on Wikipedia, which was claiming a worldwide streaming on Disney+. Less than 20 countries out of more than 100 can't be called worldwide huh Can't believe I never thought about checking this before.

Some people are still wrongly believing that the Macross franchise is streaming worldwide on Disney+ and/or Hulu. Nah. Truth is, it's only streaming in Japan and some Asian and English-speaking countries. That's more or less 20 countries when the service is active in more than 100. You're welcome.

So it seems that the Macross franchise is finally reaching Latin America with an incoming theater screening of Macross Plus the movie. Lol. Took them only 4 years. Reminder that, with the very exception on France only because of Anime Limited French branch, Europe still didn't get anything.

Third quarter of 2025 and Macross sequels are still missing on Disney+ for most of the world. Reminder : a global release was announced back in March 2024, effectively started summer 2024 for Asian and English audience with the last roll out in January this year for the US.

Most of the world cannot watch Macross sequels on Disney+ due to region lock and lack of translation, but most of the world might be able to enjoy SDF Macross on Crunchyroll soon. Quite hilarious. Pretty sure nobody expected that.

I guess either Big West don't want to team up with Crunchy "Robotech" roll, or Crunchyroll doesn't have any interest on releasing old IPs physically. In any case @alltheanime.com saved Macross again. That's a very good news for us in France. And probably the greatest news of the year for me.
