Sen. Schiff: Trump was convicted in the case you represented him in, of falsifying business records in part for tax purposes. Blanche: He can't be audited for that Schiff: He can be, he can be prosecuted for it, but the agreement you signed, in a staggering example of self-dealing, prohibits that.

Sen. Schiff to Acting AG Todd Blanche: What happened to the prosecutor who once respected the rule of law? What happened to you, Todd Blanche? Power doesn't corrupt as much as it reveals. We have seen people compromise themselves until they're trying to justify the unjustifiable.

Sen. Booker: Again and again you seem to be favoring the interests of a president and the powerful. You've chosen Trump over truth. Your nomination should fail. The attorney general's client is not the president. It's the American people. You've been protecting one man for most of your career.

Sen. Hirono: Trump's Justice Department has sued 30 states seeking their voter lists. 14 of those lawsuits have been resolved by judges. Did any of those 14 judges agree with the DOJ's position? Acting AG Todd Blanche: The answer to the question is yes Hirono: That's not correct. The answer is no.

Sen. Booker to Acting AG Blanche: I was stunned earlier that you wouldn't commit to meeting with Epstein survivors. Your claim that you can't meet with them because they're represented by counsel is nonsense. You're a lawyer. That wasn't truthful. What you will do is meet with Ghislaine Maxwell.

Sen. Blumenthal: Would you agree that agents of the US should not fire their weapons into cars? Acting AG Todd Blanche: There's a standard as to what an agent ummm.... can discharge their firearm, and I think that- that's- that's something that's- that- that should be followed in every case

Sen. Hirono: Mr. Blanche, a reporter asked you about Trump's desire to see his perceived political enemies prosecuted. Do you believe it is his right and duty to order the investigation or prosecution of his perceived enemies? Acting AG Todd Blanche: I can't answer that yes or no.

Sen. Ossoff: Who won the 2020 election? DNI nominee Jay Clayton: I'm not going to do this with you Ossoff: This is a job interview. You have an obligation to be honest with the committee. Clayton: I'm not gonna get into that with you Ossoff: You ask to lead America's intelligence community.

Sen. Coons: How many people were convicted of assaulting law enforcement officers on January 6th? Acting AG Todd Blanche: I believe around 120 Coons: The answer is more than 200. And how many were pardoned by Trump? Blanche: Trump either commuted or pardoned every defendant from January 6th.

Sen. Klobuchar: Do you agree that it is unacceptable for federal agents to forcibly enter someone's home without a warrant without even checking that they have the right person? Acting AG Todd Blanche: Well, it depends on the circumstances. We very much believe in constitutional protections

Sen. Durbin to Acting AG Todd Blanche: Under your leadership, more than 1,000 FBI personnel were directed to flag Epstein Records for any mentions of Trump. You participated in meetings in the White House Situation Room to strategize about how to protect Trump, not Epstein survivors.

Sen. Durbin: One of your first official actions as acting AG, Mr. Blanche, was to establish the $2 billion slush fund to benefit J6 cop beaters while immunizing Trump from IRS liability. You defended the slush fund by claiming "people who hurt police get money all the time."

Sen. Durbin: We are here today with the awesome responsibility of choosing the next Attorney General of the United States of America. Trump decided to fire Pam Bondi after just 14 months on the job. The Department of Justice has literally violated dozens of court orders to advance the Trump's agenda

Sen. Durbin to Acting AG Todd Blanche: In less than 18 months at the Department of Justice, you've shown you're still President Trump's personal attorney. Your tenure can be summed up in the 4 words you said, "I love you, sir," to Trump. This nation deserves an AG who loves the Constitution.

Sen. Durbin to Acting AG Todd Blanche: You have removed some of the most effective prosecutors that have ever served our government from the department. You received nearly $10 million as the president's personal attorney. But you've gutted the DOJ offices that handle ethics.
