An opinion from a drone operator. Hitting a ballistic launcher needs 24/7 drone surveillance and a strike asset ready to act fast. Recon drones are often shot down, leaving the weapon blind. In the forested area near the Russian border, success is mostly luck.
During his last meeting with #Trump, Zelenskyy asked for access to Starlink over Russian territory so our drones could go after missile launchers. As far as we can tell, nothing came of it. And I have no idea how effective hunting launchers with drones is without Starlink.
Zelenskyy: Our partners have significantly cut back on anti-ballistic support this year. Air defense missile deliveries are down threefold compared to 2025. And it’s not just about this summer – the drop affected the entire first half of 2026.
