An opinion from a drone operator. Hitting a ballistic launcher needs 24/7 drone surveillance and a strike asset ready to act fast. Recon drones are often shot down, leaving the weapon blind. In the forested area near the Russian border, success is mostly luck.

During his last meeting with #Trump, Zelenskyy asked for access to Starlink over Russian territory so our drones could go after missile launchers. As far as we can tell, nothing came of it. And I have no idea how effective hunting launchers with drones is without Starlink.

In Kramatorsk, rescue workers recovered the body of a victim from the rubble following yesterday’s Russian airstrike. The search operation lasted around 20 hours. In total, 27 people were injured in the attack, and one person was killed.

Russian forces dropped two FAB-250 bombs with UMPK on residential buildings in Kramatorsk. They tried to bring down a high-rise full of people but failed. 24 injured. This is what Russia calls “protecting the people of Donbas.”

UV Military Cluster launched the Skazhenyi interceptor drone, with first combat missions set for next week. It flies up to 45 km, stays airborne for 30 minutes, reaches 10,000 m, and carries 0.5 kg. Speed hits 310 km/h with wings and 365 km/h without. Setup takes 10 min, pack-up 8 min.

A targeted Russian strike on Aug 1 destroyed MILLIONS of books belonging to the Ranok publisher, including school textbooks. Reprinting them is the top priority. A quarter of orders may be delayed until October, while staff need psychological support and the warehouse fire is still burning.

Russia still supplies fuel to occupied Crimea via the Kerch ferry route. Ukraine struck all five ferries in July, leaving three critically damaged. The remaining two, Lavrentiy and Panagia, now operate as non-self-propelled barges towed by tugboats.

🇺🇸 Reuters: The US has used almost all its ATACMS and PrSM long-range missiles during five months of war with Iran, sources say. Both cost over $1M each. ATACMS can hit targets up to 300 km away, while PrSM reaches up to 500 km.

Drones struck the cargo ship NADEZHDA near Novorossiysk in the Black Sea on August 4. All 22 people onboard were evacuated to Russia. The ship was heading to Samsun, Turkey, and was about 20 nautical miles from the Russian coast when it was hit.

Another night, another milestone — Wildberries’ top-25 warehouse network keeps shrinking. The 154,000 m² Krasny Bor hub burned down; with Shushary already out since late July, the Leningrad region has no major WB logistics center left.

Syzran refinery was hit on August 4, 900 km from Ukraine’s border. The strike targeted the LCh-35/11-600 catalytic reforming unit, which makes key gasoline components. Without it, the refinery may produce lower-grade fuel or import replacements, raising costs.

🦩 TWZ: Fire Point spent 18+ months developing its own Flamingo engine and is assembling 10 prototypes. Tests and upgrades are due by the end of 2026, with mass production in 2027. Output may reach 7 missiles a day by end-2026 or early 2027, depending on contracts.

DeepState estimates Russia gained a net 36 km² in July 2026. The hottest spots are near Rodynske, Kostiantynivka, the state border, and toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, where Russian forces made small gains. Taking the entire Donetsk region in 2026 is impossible, and in 2027 it is highly unlikely.

🦩 A bystander captured Ukraine’s FP-5 cruise missile in flight. Former US Defense Department official and military commentator Trent Telenko says the footage shows it can fly below 100 feet, or 30 meters. Flying that low makes the missile much harder for Russian forces to track and intercept.

Russia sent the Admiral Levchenko destroyer from the Barents Sea to the Baltic, likely to guard shadow-fleet ships. It passed Germany’s Fehmarn on July 31. The 7,500+ tonne Project 1155 ship carries missiles, torpedoes and two Ka-27 helicopters.

Watch how Russian troops use a drone to hunt down a man in Kherson. This happens every day, but only a few videos ever make it online. It’s a real-life “Russian human safari” – and it has been going on since the summer of 2024. The victim survived.
