Flying into Frankfurt & taking the train always feels like a real fuck-you return to Germany. 1st getting through a creaking warren of an airport with terrible signage, then finding yourself in that 1.5 hour wait window between trains in a busy station with the smallest toilets that close at 9pm.

Amazed to find @sbsaustralia.bsky.social has #TheMovieShow episodes from the 1990s on demand. This show was my teenage proto movie geek training ground. I remember watching some of these reviews almost 3 decades ago. David Stratton was 100% correct, Starship Troopers was destined to be underrated.

Wish there were a #criticalmass for pedestrians. #stuttgart Germany is 1 of the most walking-hostile places I've ever lived. Controversial opinion? Rewatching both #Lost & #Dexter 1st seasons. For me Dexter holds up much better. Is it the 25 eps vs 12 eps? Apart from a few solid central performances, Lost feels more messy & repetitive than I remember. Also features 1 of most unconvincing dog performances I've ever seen.

Rewatching #Lost and my main takeaway is how intolerable most of the characters are. I always found Jack to be hard work but many of the others are also needlessly antagonistic. Also MANY bad Australian accents.

I try not to use Amazon when possible but online stores in Germany are so terrible. Often no delivery date given, very little communication, and I just purchased something from a site where the only payment option was direct deposit. No movement on the purchase 2 days later. Already regretting it.
