I am knee-deep in marking, so a weird post but... I'm intrigued as to why SO MANY students' (across v. different institutions) default position seems to be to put full-stops after their references: "end of sentence. (Author, date) Next sentence...". Such a weird thing, makes no sense. Anyway...
