"Well-groomed" –Washingtonian Magazine

A lot of Chinese professionals still use extremely fake first names when contacting foreign institutions, and it's always, like, "Betty" or "Timmy". Look, if your name is Ying Yue or Chun Hua, I'm not going to run screaming and refuse service. It always makes me feel kind of sad.

Restrictions around my workplace in the week leading up to the ridiculous road rally are going to be so obnoxious (no bags or purses allowed, for instance) that I decided to take the whole week off. 😐

The good news: ARS redesigned its website! The bad news: They removed the widget for searching for member artists and now there's no way to know who they represent! It's been like this for over a week, LOL.

This from Doug Burgum makes it obvious that he continues to be the chief scriptwriter for the vandalism storyline. He's the one who made the podcast rounds, pushed the story to reporters, and he must be the one who brought it to Trump. He should get lots of credit when awards season rolls around!

One fun paradox about Reflecting Pool Season 2 is that all the critics agree that supporting actor David Hearn is set to win big come awards season despite the fact that he was woefully miscast in the role!

Interior secretary Doug Burgum is one of the more comically mustache-twirling villains in the Reflecting Pool saga. Here he is blatantly, shamelessly lying to Katie Miller on July 7 when he definitely already knew all the facts about the botched restoration and the obvious lack of vandalism:

RIP Betye Saar. What I love about her work, other than the obvious sociopolitical issues with which it deals, is the sense of mystery and the macabre. Her work is seldom simply didactic; it is elusive and difficult. Dat Ol' Black Magic, paper and plastic collage on printed cotton fabric, 1981:

I have both of these albums and just listened to them, and though their quality is undeniable, so too is their pukeyness and vile corruption. Like, if you want to know why punk and new wave sprung up everywhere in the US, just listen to Rumors and The Eagles' Hotel California. That mushy sound!
