We shouldn’t overlook the enshitification of the customer support function. It nets out that regular folks spend an inordinate amount of time working for free for companies that don’t properly staff, train and compensate their support workers.

Some people care more about financial security than maximizing total returns. Some people have crushing debt, and 100% chance of getting out from under it matters more than a 50% chance of being rich. You can’t say that a choice is irrational without specifying a person’s goals. *

Perhaps all high school students should be required to take a course in right wing grifting for fun, evil and personal enrichment.

a cabinet of billionaires thinks that its a good idea to set up a pipeline for a servant underclass. they also have strong beliefs that your genetic makeup predetermines where you should be placed in life. if you wrote all this in a work of dystopian fiction, you'd sound like you were nuts.

One thing not talked about enough is the macro effects of the tariffs. Reed is probably correct that in some cases the importers are reducing margins to protect consumers and maintain markets, but what is undeniable is that tariffs are draining economic potential from the private sector.

We all know this still stinks to high heaven. Gov. Andy Beshear says he still hasn’t received an official update from Sen. Mitch McConnell. “I’ve had no official response. Nothing sent to our office, no letter, no email.”

Maybe it’s just me, but with the pending confirmation of Blanche as AG, the GOP senate seems to be laying down a marker that there is no limit to the level of corruption they will tolerate. I think they would put Jeffery Dahmer on the Supreme Court if Trump asked them to.

No knock on Sculer or on unions generally, but if our aspirations don’t rise above getting a sustainable spot on the treadmill, we’re selling ourselves short. Full citizenship is so much more. The bankers should be trembling in their boots when they see us coming.

I am stunned and saddened to hear the news this morning. Lindsey was a giant in the Senate. No one loved being a Senator more, or was more energetic. The Senate will be a lesser place without him. I’ve lost a dearly cherished friend.

ICE’s brutal authoritarian behavior is the real deal for the prols. The wealthy elites enabling it are under pressure too, but it’s different. These are people who already have a fuck-ton of money that are giving in so they can keep getting more money than they’ll ever need.

You’ll have better luck building a new governing vision if you get honest about what is wrong with the one we have. It’s not a matter of convincing people you see them. You need to clearly articulate what good governing vision looks like and it’s way different than the current model.

Buttigieg: We gotta get out there and build that new governing vision, not by preaching to the choir, not by only talking to everyone who already agrees with us, but by finding the people who haven’t always voted our way and changing how they see us by showing that we see them.

They say lightening never strikes in the same place twice, but there are lots of available targets.

Andy Beshear, absent any substantial evidence to the contrary, should just declare McConnell’s seat vacant and begin the steps to replace him. If McConnell is still functionally alive, that should flush him out.

“Automated Customer Service” is an oxymoron created either by actual morons or by thoughtless greedy bastards pretending to be actual morons, but at least it increases GDP so we can all pretend to feel good about the economy.
