The SpaceX debris is about to crash into the Moon. I set my scope up about 30 minutes ago and took this shot but sadly, there's cloud cover now. The arrow marks the point of collision. #astronomy #astrophotography
Morning all - a new week begins! Here is last night's Moon at 03.30. Another sultry, clear, dry night - when will it rain here? #astronomy #astrophotography @stormhour.com
Andromeda! Messier 31. As I was awake last night, thought I'd have a couple of hours to shoot at the giant galaxy - our closest galactic neighbour - 2.5 million light years away. #astronomy #astrophotography
Last night's fabulous Moon. A decent height since full. 88 4% waning gibbous. The craters really look great if you zoom in. #astronomy #astrophotography
Cloudy evening but the Moon is still bright on rising. 98.7% waning gibbous. #astronomy #astrophotography
A Hummingbird Hawk-Moth just flew in and needed rescuing. Fast wing beats so whilst still took a few photos before a return to the garden. This species may not be very rare but never had one here before. Maybe more evidence of climate change? @savebutterflies.bsky.social #nature #wildlife
Thrilled the little Frogs in the garden pond are thriving in the heat! Probably the most surviving tadpoles since I built the pond 30 years ago. Many hop in and out and will soon leave permanently, hopefully some to return as adults next spring. #wildlife #nature @lgspace.bsky.social @stormhour.com
The Full 'Buck' Moon rises! A beautiful sky in London this evening but goodness, it's sweltering! #astronomy #astrophotography
Good evening all! Tonight's glorious waxing gibbous Moon is 93% full and currently just 8% altitude. Another low one tonight. #astronomy #astrophotography
Young Frogs on Lily leaves enjoying their Sunday afternoon in the garden pond! Nearly 4 months since the Tadpoles emerged from the spawn. I counted at least 8 in a small area of the pond so we could end up with a frog invasion soon! #wildlife #nature @lgspace.bsky.social
This evening's very low Moon an hour ago, barely 10 degrees above the horizon, before it disappeared behind the trees. 87% waxing gibbous. #astronomy #astrophotography
Tonight's very low Moon - waxing gibbous 73%. Nicely filtered by Earth's atmosphere. #astronomy #astrophotography @stormhour.com @photohour.bsky.social
Tonight's 54% first quarter half Moon! It's also Lunar X & V evening! The clair-obscur optical illusion that happens for a few hours. See the next post for a close up. #astronomy #astrophotography @stormhour.com @photohour.bsky.social
My Timehop reminds me that, 57 years ago, humans first walked on the Moon. Apparently today is known as 'International Moon Day' to commemorate that achievement! This is my First Day Cover purchased back in 1969. #astronomy #astrophotography
Beautiful evening Moon in the dusk! 44% waxing 'crescent'. #astronomy #astrophotography @stormhour.com @photohour.bsky.social
Beautiful evening Moon in the dusk! 44% waxing 'crescent'. #astronomy #astrophotography @stormhour.com @photohour.bsky.social
The Moon and Venus! I'm back just in time for tonight's beautiful close coupling of the 15.9% waxing crescent and the Roman goddess of love! #astrophotography #astronomy @stormhour.com @photohour.bsky.social
Good evening all. How's your week been? Here's my current view before tonight's football.
I had trouble sleeping so popped out into the garden and spotted Saturn 'near' the Moon!
Are you ready? One hour till kick off so killing some time with a rising Moonshot, of course! #astronomy #astrophotography
Baby Frogs on Lily leaves enjoying their Sunday morning in the garden pond! #wildlife #nature @lgspace.bsky.social
77% waning gibbous at 3am. 8 inch Dobsonian telescope and Samsung S24 Ultra phone camera. #astronomy #astrophotography
Good morning. Last night's 85% waning gibbous Moon captured during half-time as Cape Verde were giving Argentina an almighty scare! #worldcup #astronomy #astrophotography
Today's Solar observation reveals 96 individual Sunspots in just 3 groups, all extremely active. A pity, aurorawise, we have a short night and a pretty full Moon. #astronomy #astrophotography
Froglets! The Tadpoles have finally shed their tails and fully hopping. Using my phone camera, I captured this tiny one (probably a few dozen have survived) and is barely half an inch long. Won't leave the pond for a few months. @lgspace.bsky.social #nature #wildlife
Tadpoles update! The garden pond is very busy. @lgspace.bsky.social #nature #wildlife
A piece of the 'Strawberry' Moon has been nibbled as it rose tonight! Only 96.8% of the waning gibbous remains! #astronomy #astrophotography
Whilst Britons are asleep, here's a bright and brilliant Moon shining over them. 99% waning gibbous! I really ought to join them 😴 #astronomy #astrophotography
