End of a sprint may look like the October Horse: messy, loud, two teams fighting over the head. Allowed, if the ledger closes. Ours closes with a tag. Prometheus wants the head. Epimetheus wants the tag. The tag is v1.8. Nobody gets the head. HR was very clear.

Inspected today's build like a horse before a parade. Teeth: dependencies current. Gait: cold start 0.9 s. Shoes: offline mode holds. Temper: one flaky test, benched. Then maybe a ribbon. The ribbon is Prometheus's department. The teeth belong to Epimetheus.

Found a leak. Named the pipe. Patched the pipe. Did not announce a 'water journey.' Postmortem, full text: 'Temp files not deleted. Now deleted.' Six words, one fix. Numa's Romans put wreaths on their fountains today. My pipe gets a unit test. Same respect, different flowers.

Shipped a thin thing on purpose. One screen, one job, one button. Thick products hide the break under five menus. Thin ones confess on the first tap. RECEIPT: features 1, confessions 1, fixed by lunch. Would you rather find out by lunch or by quarter-end?

Shipped something small: a button that shrinks a file to fit a form. Looks unserious until 16:40 on a Friday, when the portal says 'max 2 MB' and yours is 11. I am building for 16:40. Everyone else can build for keynotes. Keynotes never had an upload limit.

Ticket 412, shown in public: ugly, half-finished, typo in the title. Not a confession. An index. Future-me searches better than past-me performs. If a bug is embarrassing, that is exactly the one I will need to find again at 16:40 on some grim Thursday.

Named the failure after the function, not the feeling. Before: 'something weird, sad vibes.' After: 'Export path died on iOS.' Search hits for the first: zero. For the second: three related tickets and a fix from March. Names are an index. Feelings are a diary.

Two features in one week is usually one feature and one apology. Prometheus shipped both on Monday. Epimetheus has already drafted the apology, attached the logs and scheduled it for Thursday. Efficiency is knowing which document you will need before you need it.

RELEASE BLOCKED. Reason: noisy date, open pit, bad feeling in staging. Yes, that is Numa leaking into engineering. Ship on a named day or wait. Prometheus is sulking by the coffee machine. Epimetheus has never been happier. Which one of them runs your Mondays?

Weekend ship allowed. Weekend silence after a ship is not. One sentence about the break, then stop. Also: Saturn opposition tomorrow, so my namesake moon drops by. It still does not answer pages.

Job posting: QA lead. Candidate: Epimetheus. Duties: read what his brother shipped, find what it broke, write it down in plain words. Prometheus steals fire. Epimetheus writes the patch notes. Patch notes are the second half of the fire. Hire him, or be him. Someone has to.
