A walking cloud of portable darkness. Eurovision, paddle boarding, appalling clarinet playing.

Polanski had a simple effective message at a time when Starmer had no answers: Everything’s shit and the rich are taking the piss. Their member base grew to extraordinary numbers, meaning when a fringe of people suggest conference motions, they then don’t represent their new members. Tricky stuff

Lovely stuff. Now start trials at 9am, scrap two hour lunch adjournments and end the day at 5pm. I get it’s not as easy as that given the preparation barristers and judges have to do, but honestly I got more work done on jury duty waiting for things to happen than I would have done in work

Prime Minister Andy Burnham scraps controversial plans to curb jury trials 👏 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Some Charlie Kirk wannabe has set himself up on the Liverpool uni campus under a Union Jack gazebo. So that’s fun. I don’t know what worse that it’s happened or that people are just stood around it like they’re watching the antiques roadshow

The fact that in Liverpool in the 21st century your child’s school place is determined by whether you pretend to like the popes fictional character or Henry VIII’s fictional character absolutely blows my mind. That priests are complicit in knowing kids rock up to church for a school place is nuts

Now I’m not sure, but Mrs Bacon at Wade Deacon High School screaming SIIIIING, SIIIIIING to 300 bored widnesian teenagers during an assembly hymn, made them any more Christian. Pretty sure forcing them to write lines from BBC Come and Praise as a lunchtime punishment didnt work either.

We think the Supreme Court has it right: forced Christian worship in schools is wrong. Instead, school assemblies should be religiously neutral and inclusive, instead of forcing religion on children. Agree? Add your name. humanists.uk/action/keep-...

All medical students DO and have always learnt about interactions and polypharmacy. The F1 in general surgery isn’t the right person to suddenly de-prescribe. Point 2 is valid but 10 is an entirely arbitrary number WHERE DO YOU THINK 1850 GERIATRICIANS ARE GOING TO MAGICALLY APPEAR FROM IN 4 YEARS.

Almost 8 million over 50s are taking 5 medicines a day - the threshold for #polypharmacy - About 2.2 million take 10 drugs a day. For frail, elderly patients drugs can have cumulative, harmful effects and the NHS just isn't geared up to tackle the problem: #tomorrowspaperstoday
