One thing related to the TDFF that makes me a bit sad—the WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx was actually a very good contest with multiple all-star ballers making amazing plays but most discourse that emerged was performative theater that ignored the quality of the game.
If you're not already, you should turn on the TDFF. Very very good racing right now.
If we're being the honest, the GC at the TDFF is way more interesting than the TDF because there is far, far deeper parity among the top competitors than with the guys.
Think about how much positive change in women's sports there have been in the last five years. WNBA arenas are full and more women than ever are earning $500k or more. The women's Tour de France is back with more support, viewership, and parity than ever before. More sports have pay equity.

The level of time trialing of pro women has really been raised in recent years. There have long been a small number of gifted specialists but the quality of riders finishing, say, top 20 or top 30, is at a new level. The depth is really impressive.
I had to run an errand in my wife's car this morning. My part of LA is like an endless expanse of four-way stop signs and one thing I often notice when I drive is how many drivers either struggle to calculate who came to a stop first or simply don't care.

I'll always remember interviewing the actor Normal Lloyd (RIP 1914-2021) because he talked about playing tennis with Charlie Chaplin weekly for decades, and Hitchcock's sense of humor, and seeing tons of Babe Ruth games growing up. The testaments are there for people who have a working brain.

One thing this movement will have to deal with: Many of the loudest voices don't give two shits about women's sports—it's just a vehicle to advance their agenda on race and gender. Rowling, Walsh, Megyn, Tucker, Ingraham et al don't care about women's sports—and elite athletes can see it clearly.
