❝ What can I say ? I'm a man of culture . ❞ He shot back with a smug look on his face .❝ Glad to know I provided some relief . I've never met any of your kind before , I've only read about them but it's different in real life than it is in books . ❞ He drew Tomio quickly as they spoke . &&

“I’m surprised you even know what a jikininki is.” he mused. “Though, I will admit, its a relief not having to explain what I am to someone…” Even more of a relief that there doesn’t seem to be any disdain towards him or what he is. A nice change of pace, Tomio believes; even if it feels out of+

Gideon knows what he saw buthe was hoping the other would share more . However , he feels a wave of excitment again after seeing the once pale creature laugh . Gideon smiles a bit more enthusiastically as he reaches for the journal , he needs to draw this scene next to his unfinish jikininki -

Tomio let out a short burst of a laugh, thinking the question to be absurd. “You ask that as if you hadn’t just seen parts of me hardly anyone has seen before; of course I’m not, as much as it pains me to say.” He wishes he was still human, wishes that this life of his was just a vivid nightmare.

That was what Gideon thought : if the body of a dead man can be / repurposed / then there wasn't any thing wrong with eating it. So , he shrugged at Tomio's words . ❝ I don't know , I think that I am . ❞ He was honest , the brunette wasn't sure if he was indeed human or not. ❝ What about you ? ❞

“Go to waste, huh?” he repeated with a short laugh of amusement. “Odd thing to say about a fellow human.” He paused as he looked Gideon over. “You /are/ human, aren’t you?” he asked, unsure. He stood up completely now, though years of bad posture left his shoulders slightly slumped.

It was always interesting to see a creature's transition into a human; Gideon was fascinated by it since he was a child. His werewolf brother hated that about him . 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘰, he repeated in his mind as he looked the man over. He was handsome, a drastic -

The creature— er, Tomio?— blinked his mahogany eyes, his vision clearing. He hesitated, almost as if debating on it, before taking Gideon’s hand to lift himself upwards. His joints popped at the shift of weight and his vision darkening momentarily as vertigo hit. Ugh, he got up way too+

The sound of thr bones breaking made the brunette tense up . Unpleasant memories threatened to emerge from his subconscience but Gideon adverted his attention by putting down the sketchbook & pencil before scooting in closer to the pale creature . &&

It eyed the sketchbook’s drawings for a moment, letting out a sound of what may just barely pass of interest. It was a fan of art, after all. It sat still for a while as Gideon would draw. Though, it didn’t take long until its emaciated body began to jerk unnaturally, a hoarse cry of pain coming+

It was a good thing that he withstood his urge to pet the creature then . It was always best to keep caution then sink into temptations . The smile on Gideon's face kept its place , it was such an odd thing to see the brunette smile but there was excitment bubbling within him that made him feel -

It may be a god thing it wasn’t pet—- it’s not fond of being treated like an animal, despite its characteristics and mannerisms. It blinked its white hollow eyes, seemingly confused on why. But, it wasn’t an actual photograph so it figured there’s no real harm done. If anyone saw the+

It was hard to display emotions for Gideon, it didn't come easy for him to show what he felt but seeing how the jikiniki grimance or shrugged its shoulders , it made him smile instantly . It was cute or at least that's what he thought . Gideon wanted to touch it — pet its head like some sort of -

The jikininki almost seemed to grimace at the question. Truthfully, no, it’s never good. It absolutely hates having to eat the dead, but it would rather not feel like it has the worst stomach flu imaginable if it ate something normal. It turned its head towards the rising sun, its boney shoulders+

Gideon was lost in his thoughts when the jikiniki moved in front of him . It had been the first time that night that he was startled . Annoyed with himself for letting his guard down for even a second ; Gideon pinched the bridge of his nose & sighed deeply . ❝ I didn't noticed you moved . -

It took almost no time at all for the body to be completely devoured. Absolutely nothing remained after to even suggest someone used to lie there dead before the jikininki came along. Cursed with eternal hunger, the creature wasn’t satiated. But, it decided that this would be as good as it+

Gideon didn't know much about jikinikis , matter of fact , it had been the first time he encountered one , but he at least knew what their diet consisted of . He didn't look away when the other started to eat , instead he made a mental note to later document it in his journal . &&

The jikininki looked up at Gideon before directing its attention to the body. It wondered how exactly he knew about it, but it supposes it’s not important right now; death did have a smell to it, after all. It crawled over to the body, uncaring if Gideon saw it eat. A rare+

It was amusing for the self-proclaimed ghost whisperer to be walking side by side with a creature as magnificent & terrifying as this one . He wondered if the creature would allow him to draw it or at least attempt to take a picture of it for his journal . He'll have to ask later . &&

At the prospect of being fed, the jikininki perked up. Once Gideon stood, so did it on all fours. Despite not being able to speak to give its own name in return, it let out a hoarse noise as a response; it doesn’t know what a ghost whisperer is, but if it gets fed, it+

Eyes never moved off the creature , not even for a moment . Gideon was sure he hadn't even blinked , it was pure survival instinct not to do so . Until the creature was off his bed , Gideon decided to move . He reached for his phone on the run-down nightstand just to check if it was time . &&

A sound akin to disappointment would rumble out of the creature’s throat. Despite not being able to speak human language, it seems it can understand it. The pale, emaciated thing hopped down onto the floor and sat upon its bent hind legs, glowing eyes not looking away from Gideon. It tilted its+

The jikininki reclined backwards, almost surprised that it was spoken to. It slowly eased up however, but didn’t move any more now that it knows it was seen. White, hollow eyes simply stared down at Gideon. “Gg—ggh…” Came the gurgled sound from deep within its throat. It sniffed the air and +
