i don’t understand voice actors who sell their services as a “coach” when they, themselves, are not that successful. presumably they do whatever they’d advise clients to do, and it hasn’t worked for them. why should anybody take advice from them when they do not have a track record of success?

why is it SO common for youtubers to make the music in their videos so loud that you can barely hear what they’re saying? unbearable shit man. i have no patience for stupid mistakes like that

i think i've got an actually hot take: kittens are overrated. puppies too, kinda. but kittens especially. i LOVE cats and dogs, but eh. i prefer them when they're fully grown. kittens are just kinda boring and i don't even think they're that cute.

i think the ocarina of time remake looks GREAT. the reaction lots of people are having to it reminds me of how people act when the UI of an app they use a lot is updated, that knee-jerk negative reaction to change of any kind that makes them interpret the thing as *bad* when it’s just *different *

hopefully this is something i don't actually need to say, but i'm going to say it anyway: if you hear a voice that you're sure is me in an audiobook, audio drama etc., but it is credited with a different name, please keep it to yourself.

i LOVE webp. it’s a great image format. it supports both lossless AND lossy compression, AND it supports transparency with lossy compression at the same time. and the compression ratios are better! it’s like the very best of both png and jpg all rolled into one format.

VAs, ASMRtists, audio role players, etc.: How much are you talking to your fellow creators? Have you made a lot of friends in the industry? Do you DM other creators on a daily basis as *friends*, as opposed to just collaborators?

i’m a massive contrarian. i’m not one to blindly accept conventional wisdom. if i see lots of people doing something a certain way, i’m likely to assume they’re doing it that way not because it’s the best way to do it, but because it’s the way everybody has always done it. and i like being like this

you know how in some places, audios will have a million different "tags" in square brackets, like this? (random screenshot from some subreddit, not picking on these specific posts). do people actually like and use these tags? to me, they are way too specific and the quantity of them is overwhelming.

tonight, i may sleep a little better after restarting streaming and also simply asking my community for help. thanks to all of you who’ve followed me on twitter, patreon and other platforms over the last day. not being so reliant on youtube really takes the weight off my shoulders!

Project Hail Mary was pretty great but i’m so tired of the changing aspect ratios gimmick. yes, i get that some of the film was shot on IMAX and some wasn’t. it should all be cropped the same.

waking up and taking a breath and knowing the cold has finally passed and you aren’t going to feel like you’re drowning in phlegm all day is bloody lovely. and i can finally record stuff again! i’ve been ACHING for it

remember when, if you took a screenshot of a video player and pasted it into mspaint, there’d be a hole in the image that would show whatever was behind the mspaint window? i thought that was so magic when i was a kid

look, spicy script writers, i admire the dedication to realism, but you don't need your characters to explicitly acknowledge that they're using lube in every script. even if it was required in every sexual encounter in real life (which it isn't), it's ok for it not to be needed in fantasy.
