WANTED ANOTHER LOOK, so I returned! Had been to June's Private View. Three highlights: video; sculpture and geometric offerings. Wandered, thoughtfully, looking also at other artworks. Textures drew me closer. Came away with new Hungarian vocabulary plus appreciation of contemporary art from Hungary

TRACES OF HUMANITY show in London gets better with each visit. I went several times... for the Gibraltarian Minister's opening, a music/poetry event + again to photograph. Vivid art, interesting lively displays. Powerful themes = history and memory. Thoughtful. Bright gallery. Catch final few days.

AT CERAMICS UNBOUND over two dozen outstanding ceramic artists, spanning Britain, Europe, Asia, etc., transform clay into expressive and bold crafted works. You could say, dynamic (red-and-white striped piece), elegant (pastel blue vessels) and tactile (clustered multicoloured forms). Worth a visit.

Boarded C3 bus to see three in THE OLD LADIES. Upstairs, for tea + simmering menace. Seated in row two, I half-expected to be offered a cup. Intimacy at its best. Shouts + stares land with precision. Real scares. No interval = no escape! Not staged relic, but one eerie amber chamber of unease. ★★★★★

WENT THURSDAY to see THE WEIR, at Harold Pinter Theatre. My seat, Dress Circle C15, obstructed by a Pole/Pillar — but it didn’t flinch, in the latter half, when an actor shouted the Germans were coming! 😂 Great cast. Brilliant atmosphere PLUS bar on every floor. Glad I caught it before the run ends🎭

LONDON CELEBRATES ST. PATRICK's DAY... The Irish spirit shone brightly at the Embassy of Ireland recently. A warm Gaelic welcome greeted guests whilst hosts raised toasts to Ireland’s heritage. Amidst the revelry, a sharply dressed gentleman, shamrock on his chest, savoured the tribute to tradition.

LONDON HOUR, ON THE HILL... At 6pm, last Bank Holiday Monday I entered another dimension! Namely, the last day of the 2024 Notting Hill Carnival, taking place near to where I lived in the mid to late eighties. But just for an hour, as being a teacher I had a couple of lessons to attend in Pimlico.
