I moved house a couple months ago, and finally got the chance to re-display my prewar Lionel set, including the freight cars which haven’t been out in at least a decade. This set last operated about 30 years ago. What I wouldn’t give to be able to give it another spin…

This setup makes so much sense from a storytelling perspective. There’s two boards in the pilot; perhaps the intent was to give Thomas an additional bit of motive… “why is it that I can pass the first board but not the second one?”

Had a really trippy dream last night which involved someone discovering a behind the scenes reel for TUGS. It would’ve been a continuation/soft reboot that was worked on in the mid-late 90s before getting scrapped. It was animated, BUT all the boats/cranes/etc were filmed on a chroma key background-
