I am not really used to posting anything anywhere; I've never even used this Bluesky account. But I got laid off from Bethesda Game Studios this week. I was a bargaining rep for our union. I applied to work here five times starting when I was 18. I had 0 experience the first couple times I applied.

Yesterday’s layoffs at Bethesda Games Studios were not a cut of “14 layers of management”. We lost dozens of programmers, artists, designers and testers. Many of whom worked at BGS for decades. If Bethesda fans are worried this will harm the quality of our future games, like TES VI, let Microsoft know!

I haven't said anything here because I've been busy processing and trying to support those that need it more than me. Monday, Microsoft made a difficult decision to lay off 1600 people across multiple Xbox studios, including 60+ within Bethesda Game Studios, & hundreds more within all of Zenimax.

found a whole operation of unmanned youtube channels making completely unchecked long form slop videos where the ai voice simulacra regularly trips up & does this for a full ten minutes every time. all the very legit comments are like "NO! THATS NOT TRUE! YOU LIE HE DID NOT" & never acknowledge it.

At approximately 2:23 AM this morning, I awoke with George Harrison's "Got My Mind Set On You," a song I haven't heard or thought about in years, much less have any strong memories of, stuck in my mind for no discernable reason, and decided to post about it.

I don't know if this is just a guy thing, but it's not uncommon to see boogers plastered on the wall where they do their business in public bathrooms. To which I say, if you're gonna be a lil snot goblin, the least you could do is eat what you pick out of your nose like the rest of your people.

Such a good point on SCOTUS hypocrisy when it comes to Trump vs Biden: They let a nationwide injunction kill Biden’s student loan relief when they had a chance to rule on it. 5 months into Trump’s presidency, suddenly nationwide injunctions are a grave threat to executive power and they must rule.

I think maybe when you hit a billion dollars, we award you a trophy, remove everything else you own, ship you off to Mars, & you are no longer allowed to interact directly or indirectly with Earth. If you do it again there, you go to the next planet & so on. You win by having the most trophies.
