Glad to see the Phils hop aboard the Large Baseball Son train
Caden Bogenpohl’s first pro homer finishes off a seven-pitch AB and gives Clearwater a 2-0 lead. It goes 393 feet at 102.4 mph for the second round pick

I now embrace my baseball team - The Philadelphia Phillies - as the team of chaos and entropy. Their defense doesn't make sense, their lineup will follow no prototype, and they're one top SP injury away from the whole thing dissolving. Time for two months of white knuckles.
I will guess - and it's only a guess I promise - that at least 1 or 2 of the 26 names on tonight's roster card will not make it to the game still on said roster card

The Phillies have paid the bill with gratuity included, again, but the moves so far will definitely be a boost to 2026. No doubts there
More rain on the way, 5-run game almost official, Orioles preparing to float off into the ether…what a time it would be to pick up a cheapie and save bullpen innings on a shortened Wheeler day
Both Zack Wheeler and Kyle Bradish lifted from their starts by the 3rd inning. Hug watch?
If Zyhir Hope is scratched, the Dodgers are probably about to make a move that’ll piss people off
The first guy the Phillies have had in a long time who could threaten to go nova by age 19 or 20. Excited to see what he can do when he comes stateside
Francisco Renteria doubles and Edwin Ramirez drives him in with a single to get the DSL Phillies on the board. Ramirez is 2 for 3 today and is hitting .400 over 85 ABs this season
The kindest way I can phrase the mindset of calling for the Phillies to sell off is "solution in search of a problem." There are other ways I could put it, though!
Listen to the episode that inspired these rave reviews from our Discord community: "Truly one of the most 'talk us off the ledge' episodes in the show's history, I think." "Remind me not to go hiking with [Matt]" "Instead of listening to The Smiths today he’s listening to The Cure"

A streak like this just days before the deadline makes steering into the skid by buying in 2-3 deals kinda dangerous. Feelsgoodman
Me watching a second Br. Keller pitch for the Phillies this season
I mostly made this for @baumann.bsky.social but I created a fun little racing sim where you can create your own courses/Grand Tours anywhere in the world and sim races on them. Footrace, bike, car. Plenty of room to expand and improve so let me know if you enjoy it anywhererace.banton-digital.com

Draw a race track on a real map and watch a deterministic simulation play it out.

There were always things to be wary of during October, but I always trusted Thomson to be sensible and he usually was. Hm? Oh no reason
Look that’s funny. That’s funny! That’s hysterical. Easily my favorite loss of the year
If you've noticed that there hasn't been a new PT yet this week: Well, thank you, you're sweet. And also correct. Weekly episode will be on Thursday this week. Cheers
The Phillies led a game by 6 entering the 9th, then ended up using their top reliever (who threw 22 pitches the day before) with the lead still at 3 and the bases empty with 2 out. Let's play again tomorrow.
I know it’d be “easier” and ”less stressful” for Trea Turner to be a “normal” player this year but this is also entertaining

Cursory glance shows Nola made some sort of mechanical tweak. Last night’s curves and changeups (which he featured most) often had more extension. 14 whiffs in 29 swings combined, zero hard-hit curves. Again he isn’t fully fixed but I’d call this promising
