As a teacher, I am excited to work with a former Minister of Education who understands that education is not just about curriculum & test scores; it starts with the health, well-being and safety of every child. Before a student can learn, they need to feel safe, supported, and valued.

As a teacher, auntie, proud British Columbian, as a human being, I stand with CentreBC & countless others who are condemning the comments of MLA Tara Armstrong in the wake of the Tumbler Ridge tragedy & seeking accountability for the damage she's done & that which is sure to come.

In light of her reckless comments and dangerous sharing of misinformation, we at CentreBC call on MLA Tara Armstrong to apologize to the residents of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbians and the Transgender Community. It is time for MLA Armstrong to step down and remove herself from public office.

In the wake of the tragedy in Tumbler Ridge, something powerful happened in Victoria today. MLAs stood shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with compassion, humanity, and unity. We look forward to seeing more of this in the future. Our hearts, and hugs, are with the people of Tumbler Ridge.

We are heartbroken by the tragic shooting in Tumbler Ridge. Our deepest condolences go out to the families, friends, students, educators, & the entire community affected by this devastating event. British Columbians stand together in compassion and support for Tumbler Ridge during this painful time.

Today on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we pause to reflect on the lives lost to violence and discrimination. It’s a reminder that everyone deserves safety, dignity, and the freedom to live without fear. Building a respectful, caring province is something we can all stand behind.
