Male Green-tailed Sunbird sits on the end of a broken branch, body facing the viewer but head turned in profile to our left. Bright yellow yes and blue and teal iridescent head feather that travel down the back of the head. His cheeks are black. You can see just a glimpse of the red feathers around his neck that go down his back.

Male bird with bright red plumage with contrasting dark brown on wings, around the eyes like a mask the extends around the back of their heads. Our bird is perched on a branch facing us but their head his turned to show them in profile. There is lichen growing on the branch and it’s offshoots. The background is lush.

Male and female Green Jay’s look alike but we can tell this Jay comes from the south because of its bright yellow belly. “The Green Jay (Cyanocorax yncas) is a colorful, social bird from the crow family, known for its bright green, yellow, and blue plumage with a black and blue head, found from southern Texas through Central America and into South America.” Our Jay is seen in full profile, facing to our left. They’ve landed on the end small vertical branch and look ready to fly off!

Black-cheeked Lovebirds are a small endangered parrot from Zambia. It is mainly green and has a brown head, red beak, and white eyerings. Our pair sitting on a branch together. The bird on the right has their beak open “kissing” their partner.

The spotted owlet (Athene brama) is a small owl which breeds in tropical Asia from North Pakistan to Southeast Asia. The upperparts are grey-brown, heavily spotted with white. The underparts are white, streaked with brown. The facial disc is pale and the iris is yellow. There is a white neckband and supercilium. Sexes are similar. (from Wikipedia) Our reference photo has the owl perched in a tree, where two branches diverge. Body is in side profile, breast facing our left, and their head is turned to face us. In the background are more large tree limbs
