Did anyone at #SABR54 get R&RHOF swag. I didn't notice until I got home that the tags are basically trading cards. Does someone know who the latter photo is?
depending on where you draw the line Arraez in 60-90 OBP pts better than whatever OF gets relegated. Arraez has an OPS+ of 127 - would rank #3 for the Phillies behind Schwarber & Harper
Matt Winkelman@mattwinkelman.bsky.social · 22h agoThe thing about Luis Arraez is that he is a good hitter that fans of a certain age bracket think is an elite offensive player. If he is playing a solid second base he is a quite good all around player. It just feels like the battle lines always end up as you have to think he is HoFer or he sucks.
I think he led the business of baseball meeting. As part of that he may have done something Japan related.

ESPN opted to gut their veteran reporter/commentator roster so that guys like Pat McAfee and Aaron Rodgers can yuck it up over medical conspiracy theories. It's been a long time since ESPN was great, but now they're just peddling trash that's ultimately in the service of anti-intellectual fascism.
He can boot a ball a week (which is much worse than is career numbers) as long as he can hit even modestly well - say 2025 numbers.

yeah but when were the big contracts signed for each? was Luzardo FA or arb eligible between 25-26? Unsure if there is any world where their both signed.

Luzardo had a shutout thru 6, but the Phils couldn't hit Blake Snell. Sent Zeus back out for the 7th. Allowed 2 hits.
Did it come down to Sauarez or Luzardo? and the Phillies opted for the younger. I don't remember the timing of the signings.

I’m in a bookstore now. This shelf holds books from publishers affected by the russian attack on August 1, when eight million books were destroyed. The bookstore is asking people to buy their books. I wanted to remember this shelf.
