Really great talk from Ulrike Hammerbeck on the mRS, its association to the range of impairments experiences post stroke, and its appropriateness as a primary OCM in rehabilitation studies. Is it really a (blunt) measure of motor impairment? #NNR2025

Hybrid models of care - that include tele-rehabilitation - offer great opportunities to improve rehabilitation delivery and choice for many patients with neurological conditions. Systematic plans for adoption are needed. A great overview from Prof Jenny Freeman at #NNR2025

Kicking off #NNR2025 with keynote from Prof Jenny Freeman on tele-rehabilitation 💻 📱 📞 . SR evidence shows telerehab yields comparable outcomes to conventional care across a range of outcomes. Cost effectiveness evidence limited. Patient satisfaction generally good 👍🏽

Hearing about L1 psychological support at #UKSF24. Hearing lived experience - “good psychological support lifts me up a bit, helps me to thrive. Bad psychological support can knock me down miles.” Words have a profound impact +everyone should have L1 Psych Support Training.

Super to be at #UKSF24 representing TULAY with 2 project posters: 1️⃣ A scoping review of stroke services within the Philippines 2️⃣ Building Bridges & Solutions in Self-Management Support after Stroke: a global health co-design project for stroke survivors, families & healthcare in the Philippines

#UKSF24 Prof Terry Quinn - excellent presentation challenging the stroke community to “zoom out”… rather than focussing in, specialising too far and working in silos. Priorities - recognising multimorbidity, frailty awareness, social determinants, rehab and life after stroke.

BildBildBild

#UKSF24 Opening Plenary - Prof Martin James, brilliantly highlighting the glacial process of knowledge translation and mobilisation…..with a call to arms to drive changes in practice. Key message relevant across the stroke pathway.

Authors found the Time to Walking Independently after STroke (TWIST) prediction tool more accurately predicted independent walking than physiotherapists at 4, 6, or 9 wks post-stroke. The prediction tool may be useful for early rehab & discharge planning. 🧠🔄 🧠📈 🧪 journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....
