The older you get, the more you appreciate humility in others. Good listeners. People who are intellectually curious. A balanced, two-way conversation. I love meeting smart people who are over themselves. Very refreshing.

In the movie Moneyball, they create stakes that don't really exist. They make it sound like the world was after Billy Beane's head. The world really was after Craig Breslow's head. And then this funny, inexplicable thing happened.

I love that the Brewers can be a great team despite being last in home runs (they were 22nd last year). Not that I'm against the homer, but sports are more interesting when there's diversity in style among successful teams.

Using the fantasy scoring on Pro Football Reference, there's only one tight end who's been the No. 1 player at his position four straight seasons. Who is it? He's not in the Hall of Fame.

Writing long isn't the goal. You're probably not Marcel Proust or David Foster Wallace. Writing efficiently is the aim. Nobody cares about a big word count. They just want a good piece. And if it's efficient and easy to digest, that's almost always better.

QBs who have thrown a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson: old Aaron Rodgers, Justin Fields, old Joe Flacco, Zach Wilson, Tyrod Taylor, Mike White, Tim Boyle. This year, it's Geno Smith. I wish we could run Wilson's career over and actually give him a fair shot.

If I had to pick a band for its best 40 songs, I'd pick the Stones, in a second. A Dawkins dunk. If I had to pick a band for its best 8-10 songs, I'd pick Belly. Absurdly underrated. Even people who kinda know them think it's Feed The Tree. The King album is *so much better.* My recco to everyone.
