Here's the usual comparison between my estimates and the results (Q2 2026) • Positively surprised by hardware sales for both Switch 2 and Switch, even if my guess were quite low in insight • Good debut for Tomodachi • Overall score - 9 out of 23 😅

My estimates for Nintendo's upcoming results (Aug 6) • Switch 2 hardware over 2.5m units (total over 22.5m) • Switch 2 software over 11.5m units (total over 60m) • Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream over 5m units

It's important to note that Nintendo includes games sold as part of hardware bundles in its hardware sales figures (for example, a portion of Pokémon Pokopia sales are included in hardware sales). This inflates the hardware sales while underreporting 1st party software sales.

Nintendo's gross profit margin increased by 22 points to 54.3% in part due to US tariffs refunds (approx. $300 million). The increase in software sales both in value and proportion also pushed gross profits up.

Sales forecast is revised up with positive impact of foreign exchange rates expected OP profits is also revised up for the same reason as well as the US tariff refunds and various improvements in costs. While "adjustments to first-party title roadmap" will impact negatively.
