From sunlight to lifelines ☀️💧 In #Myanmar, UNCERF is supporting @unicef.org to bring clean water through solar power – so children can be in class, not carrying jerrycans. “This project didn’t just bring water. It brought dignity.”

At a difficult time for humanitarians and the people we serve, we all need some motivation. My motivation this week comes from these kids I met yesterday in Rakhine State, Myanmar. They are Rohingya, born in a squalid camp whose boundaries they have never crossed. And yet they smile and laugh.

A devastating 6.0 earthquake has struck eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 800 people and injuring thousands more. In response, Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator Joyce Msuya has allocated $5M from UNCERF to deliver urgent shelter, health, food and logistics support to the affected people.
