Great read. Even if local LAN parties and dingy gaming cafes weren’t welcoming to me (gurlz don’t play lol, etc.), it’s fascinating to reflect how the rampant piracy in the 90-00’s here shaped gaming canons and the subsequent local gamedev industry.

A lot of people assume the higher up you get in your game dev career, the more cool ideas you get to contribute to a project. In actuality, the higher up you get, the more your job becomes about inventing types of diplomacy that could not even be dreamt of by mortal men

There’s winning the GOTY and then there’s me daydreaming about wearing that Astrobot dress as I run carefree through the meadows, jumping over any rocks in the way of my cozy existence

that’s my priority for Indiana Jones atm, all the rest can wait
