We're starting off our Women's History Month member highlights with our cozy bookish fae Vtuber, Chloe (she/her)! @azurebay.bsky.social gives us the most wholesome vibes on stream, wears the sickest cosplays, and mentors both Pride and Women's Unity Guild members in all things stream technology 🌻

It's a time I mostly actually take to educate myself and learn more.

Question: How do you celebrate Women's History Month in your content and community?

Answer: I've played some games made by women-led studios and also participated in some collabs to help uplift and meet other women and fems!

Question: If you could describe your streams/content in three words, what would they be?

Answer: Warm, comforting, and welcoming.

Question: Who was your first cartoon crush?

Answer: Probably Robin Hood and Maid Marian from Disney's Robin Hood haha (yes they're foxes...don't question it).

Question: Tell us about one of your passions.

Answer: One of my passions is getting more young girls, women, and fems into technology. I'm a big advocate for women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and my life outside of content creation is always trying to promote the industry I work in (technology) and making it more welcoming and inclusive.

We asked Tye for a movie or show recommendation for others to watch during Black History Month and she suggests "A Different World," one of their favorite Black-centered television shows about college students at Hillman College, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU).

Tye's passions include knitting, crocheting, and reading. She describes these as peak granny interests that she enjoys at just 29 years old /lh /lighthearted.

What does Black History Month mean to you? As a Black southerner, Black History Month being the month of love (not the capitalistic, transactional kind, but the ethos of love in its all forms) is something I hold onto dearly. While I have had some not great experiences at the beginning of the year, Black History Month is a celebration of Black people from across the world from every stretch of land and sea. It's a time to celebrate how diverse, intersectional and amazing the Black/African Diaspora is, not only in the trials and tribulations that we've had to face but also the joy, foundations and truth telling we've had to navigate through time, lineages and ancestry. Black History is year-round and knows no borders/boundaries AND we love Black History around here.

Katelyn (she/they) @jstkatelyn - Q1: 'What does Pride Month mean to you?" A1: "Pride Month to me is getting to be authentically and unapologetically myself *more* than usual. It's about occupying spaces that aren't traditionally ours. It's about lifting voices within the community and celebrating all our wins."

Q2: "How do you celebrate Pride Month in your content and community?" A2: "This month for pride we are celebrating by joining a raid train that is raising money for Point of Pride! Similar to what I do in Hispanic Heritage month, we will be learning about a figure from queer history every stream as well!" Q3: "What has been your experience in the streaming and content creation space as someone part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community?" A3: "Over the past year soooo much has changed for me. I have started exploring my gender identity and my community took to using my correct pronouns right away. I also have recently come out as a lesbian to my community and I have been met with nothing but love and support. I know I have a safe space on the internet or I would have never felt comfortable to do that."

Q4: "How can folks advocate for and uplift your community?" A4: "People can educate themselves on history, challenges, and experiences of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. They can work on using inclusive language with their friends, family, workplace, and just everyday situations they are in. They can speak out against discrimination in the community and use their privilege to address any kind of homophobia or transphobia." Q5: "Is there a LGBTQIA2S+ character in any books/movies/shows that you resonate with, and why?" A5: "Charlie Bradbury from Supernatural!! She was the first femme queer person I saw on tv who had all of the same nerdy interest that I had. She is freaking badass and always inspired me." Q6: "Is there anything else you would like to share?" A6: "Queer voices will not be silenced. I am so proud of everyone in the community. I know it's not safe for everyone to come out but know you are seen and loved so so much. Remember to take care of each other this month and year round."

Q2: "How can folks advocate for and uplift your community?" A2: "People can advocate by amplifying AAPI voices, support AAPI-owned businesses, and really listening and learning from different individuals within this community will uplift our comminities." Q3: "What are some of your favorite stream traditions?" A3: "I don't have a certain tradition but I would love to share different type of Korean foods and have that show on my streams / or for me to authetically cook Korean dishes on stream would be great to have as a tradition." If I am able, I like to do charities during this month to uplift AAPI communities. A6: " One conspiracy theory I believe is that in Korean media if there is a Government related issue that they would like to hide, it is covered up with a huge celebrity scandal that gets the country shaken up about."
