Big video update! You can now post videos up to 10 minutes long, and they'll upload 2–3x faster. That's on top of the recent increase in maximum file size to 300MB. We can’t wait to see what you’ll create! NOW PLAYING: "Rent Control," by @shing.bsky.social and @jayackley.bsky.social

This is actually funny because it's the exact opposite 😂 The name changed after we added Fediverse support. We didn't want it tied only to Bluesky anymore. In case it's not clear enough: no Reels, no AI. Just a classic photo app. Even if you don't like Stories you can disable it.

I'm putting on my conspiracy theory hat: I wonder if the reason Pinksky app (that basically makes Bluesky have a more Instagram style UI, which I like to use from time to time), changes its name to Pink Leap because it's going to malform towards supporting AI slop, by adding shitty features.. 🤔

Bluesky raised the limit to 10 photos per post, and Pinkleap is already up to date. 🦩

v1.123 is live! You can now attach up to 10 photos in posts. We listened to your feedback and redesigned the photo carousel. It only appears for posts with at least 5 photos. Swipe through to learn more.

Need a reminder on what alternatives there are for the "other" social media. @pckt.blog is for blogging @pinksky.app for Instagram @sprk.so or @skylight.social for short-form video content @scrapboard.org for Pinterest Any others I should add? @germnetwork.com is available for E2E messaging...

Yes! That's coming soon :)

Super interesting! @pinkleap.app I was hoping for combined feeds / crossposting which would be great for me. Are you considering it?

All Fediverse features are supported, including private accounts. Get it at pinkleap.app. Available on iOS, Android, and web.

New name, new ways to connect.

We just updated Pinksky to support higher-resolution photos in line with Bluesky’s new limits :)

Bluesky@bsky.app · 7mo ago

v1.121 is live! We've increased the quality of photos in posts by doubling the max file size to 2MB and the resolution limit to 4000x4000. Plus, posts with multiple photos now appear in a carousel so you can show off your photography in all its glory.

No. Short-form video like “Reels” isn’t part of our plans. Our focus is on offering a classic, distraction-free photo app experience.

Does pink sky have a short video format like reels on Instagram?

New Year update is live 🎉 📥 Direct Messages 💌 Story replies & likes 🔍 Full-screen zoom + photo downloads Also some bug fixes for reposts and navigation. Get it now: pinksky.app

We’ve seen more people asking about this lately. Pinksky is just a photo visualizer. It doesn’t store data or create accounts. Anyone on Bluesky appears there automatically because the profiles are public. That's how it technically works and its the main difference from other social apps.

@pinksky.app hey, do all Bluesky accounts automatically have a pinksky profile, or is someone impersonating me there?

New update! A brand-new post editor for you :) 🌃 Apply filters 😎 Add text and stickers 🖍️ Paint with brushes Plus, smoother video uploads. Get it now: pinksky.app

The stories include reposts and links, but you can also choose to share photos and videos in this section. This decision was made to showcase as much content from Bluesky as possible. You can disable stories entirely in the settings. More options will come in future versions :)

i don't think having @pinksky.app show links in stories is good UX, it turns stories into just an ugly carousel of links

New update is here! What’s inside: ✨ Bookmarks (save posts for later) 👥 Multi-account support 📌 Pinned feeds Also a lot of improvements on navigation & video playback. Get it now: pinksky.app

👀

Yes. We took some time to rethink some decisions on the project, review community feedback and see how ATProto evolves. Expect more updates soon :)

Luna@shi.gg · 2y ago

is this project still alive?

Some updates are coming to your Pinksky profile! Now, you can reorder and hide photos to showcase only what you want. You can also share your profile using a shortlink: psky.co/your-handle Try it out on Android, iOS, and Web! 🦩

Looks fantastic, Jess! More customization options for profiles are coming soon. In the meantime, we're working hard to fix bugs and enhance app performance on Android and iOS. Thank you all for your patience and support! 💕🦩

okay this is REALLY promising! pinksky is an alternative wrapper for bsky, which you can specify for your art tags, without needing to do anything! my profile with my 'artpost' tag, looks great already?!

You may have already noticed, but profiles and posts are now accessible without login. Feel free to share links anywhere you like. Example: pinksky.app/profile/tech...

I played with this yesterday and it's incredibly cool. It also works extremely well as a progressive webapp if you install it to your home screen on Android — don't let the lack of a native Android version dissuade you from trying it!

Pinksky is a photo client for Bluesky. Start using it at pinksky.social

A video preview in case you haven't tried it yet. 👉 Available at pinksky.social

After hearing some feedback: - Alt text will be prioritized in the next version - 2-step protected accounts doesn't work yet (but you shouldn't disable it!) - Multiple accounts will be added, but not a priority - "Reels" could also be added in the future, but it would be completely optional

For Android users: while Google is reviewing the app, remember you can still access the web version on both mobile and desktop

Looking for an #Instagram interface built on the #atproto ? Check out @pinksky.app - pretty much a 1:1 clone for web and mobile. Be sure to use an App Password, not your real password. These are created in Settings > Privacy and Security. Nice work!
