a while back an incredibly popular and skilled artist raised an amount of money like 3/4ths of what my ko-fi goal is. $15,000, in just a few hours. i'm happy for her, wish her the best, but hate to say that it hurt to see. i hate to say the jealousy has been sitting in my stomach since.

... my mother had a cardiac emergency and her lungs filled with fluid a couple months ago. she has no health insurance. i set a ko-fi goal that honestly isn't nowhere near enough. everyone helped me raise a couple thousand for her. i'm so thankful for it. even if i have a hard time showing it.
the reality is that it paid a couple bills and got her one appointment. 400 dollars for that appointment. she hasn't had another since. we can't afford it.

as of writing this, that 20K ko-fi goal hasn't even reached 20% yet

i don't have anything spectacular to offer. i'm not adored by tens of thousands. nobody's expecting some fun, amazing labor of love from me. nobody knows me. therefore my posts begging for help don't get enough traction.

last month, after begging for 2 weeks, i was having panic attacks two days before we had to pay somewhere over $700, half of our massive overdue fee. just to keep the electricity that mom's oxygen machine runs on.

this goal of $20,000, it's hard to feel hope that i'll raise it while she's still alive. it's hard to imagine increasing that goal to what it should be, and raising anywhere close to it while she's still alive.

i hate feeling like i'm not beloved enough to save her life.
