I finally gave audiobooks a shot and I will continue listening to books but nothing I'm actually excited about reading. It's far too easy to zone out and miss things plus, without exception, the audiobook somehow completely bypasses the end of novel anticipation I feel with a physical book.

The second part is the soapbox I will die on. We have the greatest access to the tools, materials and knowledge to make our own high quality goods compared to literally every other moment in human history and very few people I know avail themselves of that opportunity.

You absolutely can buy very high quality goods at a premium directly from someone who cares but it won't come from a well known brand. We also have unprecedented access to the tools and knowledge to make high quality goods for ourselves and almost no one I know avails themselves of that opportunity.

I don't know how someone marries a person significantly younger than they are. I've had to crawl under the deck multiple times over the last month and every time I referred to it as "Catherine Zeta Jonesing" and my wife understood that I was referring to the laser scene from Entrapment...

I am overjoyed that my industry doesn't rely on social media because journalists on this platform are catty bitches with back-seeking-knives at the ready 24/7 and I'm not sure I would survive such constant bitchiness from my coworkers and fellow travelers

Before working for government I wasn't aware how many people are out there in the world doing absolutely nothing correctly, not bothering to ask or look into how to do something correctly, and getting angry at anyone who attempts to correct them or make them fix their mistakes.

At this point I can come to no other conclusion than reporters also don't know what communism is and they have been "just asking questions" for so long they no longer need to know literally anything.
