When women’s liberation and humanity are being discussed, some often try to dilute the issue by shifting the focus to “everyone” or “minorities,” as though women are not present within those groups, too. It is a patriarchal tactic to bury the conversation beneath broader layers of victimhood.

Everywhere I look, whether it's a warzone, refugee camp, or some comfortable Western city, it is women and girls who are taking the full blow from every conflict and criminal organization, whether it's being hunted for sport, mass raped, trafficked, disappeared, or dehumanized as property.

When the US fled Afghanistan all the world could talk about prominently for years was the military equipment left behind, not the millions of women and girls who became slaves overnight and continue to live in hell.

When Trump and Musk cut USAID it wasn’t just aid being cut, it was a deliberate mass murder of thousands if not millions of people, the vast majority women and children, starved to death, denied basic care, robbed of their future and lives. It’s an atrocity that would make King Leopold blush.
