Found some stuff from my last playthrough and god, Fallout: New Vegas might be the best game ever created.

As someone who lived through this era, this is 100% accurate; if you look closely, none of the PS3 supporters appear to mention any games.
customized my wow server to add ~100 bots to goldshire inn who will never leave and are programmed to argue about the xbox 360 vs ps3 nonstop
2011: Hot off of Gears of War 3, Epic Games sees potential in Minecraft's unique gameplay mechanics, and sets to merge that with third-person shooters. 2026:
If I wrote a VC review where losing weapons and armor after failing a mission gave me the conclusion not that I should be saving beforehand and reloading if I die, but that the PS2 didn't have any good games in late 2002, I would take that shit to my grave.
Full disclosure, but I was a thought leader on the "R* makes games that are tedium simulators" beat.
God damn, man, piracy really is just always better.
Friendly Reminder: 3DS, Vita and Switch all use a type of flash memory that needs an electrical charge every decade or so to keep the game data from corrupting. TLDR: Boot up all your games and make a save on them to help preserve them into the future!
Is it really so hard to just think some classic thing's genuinely cool and likeable and it doesn't need "deconstructing" or an "ironic" angle to be enjoyed today?
Oh good, I was looking for another 80s fantasy revival that relies on ironic humor like a prosthetic leg and seems to have an active disdain for its own premise.
Here's The First Trailer For Golden Axe's Animated TV Series, From The Creator Of Star Trek: The Lower Decks.
I don't care enough to actually check, but I imagine the discourse around GTA VI footage leaking and also Duskbloods footage leaking resembles that "HELLO, HUMAN RESOURCES?" meme.
It feels hyperbolic to say that an entire generation was lost because of it, but that's also still probably closer to the truth than it should be.
Seeing this yesterday, it's genuinely staggering how many man hours and how much money has been squandered chasing live-service. They effectively limited the output of some of their best studios in pursuit of something that ultimately failed. It's really bad all around.
I think Tomb Raider is just forever cursed to be put into the hands of people who absolutely do not understand the appeal of Tomb Raider.
The most brave, radical, attention-generating direction you could take Tomb Raider in 2026 would be to go back to basics and give people lonely times clambering around ancient places, relying on skill and observation to survive. BUT NO
This new Quake expansion is so good, there's a Quad Damage behind a waterfall and a book sticking out of a bookcase that opens up a secret compartment behind it IN THE SAME LEVEL.
Backloggd started another Game of the Year thing, so here's my picks for 2008. Call of Duty: World at War, Rock Band 2, Saints Row 2, and Castle Crashers all may as well have been my Multiplayer picks in addition to L4D; that may be the peak Xbox LIVE era for me.
Footrace with Koopa the Quick and Goomba the Really Fucking Fast
1: It is hilarious to see Nintendo tweeting about Quake. 2: That might be the best Quake logo art since the original.
Are you ready, Ranger? A new free episode, "Dawn of the Machine," is available now in QUAKE! Play it on Nintendo Switch: ninten.do/6016aEazk
I played one round of this and within three minutes I was, from what I could parse, football tackling wizards while completely covered in bees. An absolute fucking riot. Go check it out.
After entirely too long and entirely too much trouble... Reelism 2 TURBO: Expansion Pack 1 is out now! #DOOM
#17: Ultimate Spider-Man looks good and certainly feels good—especially for its age—but it's an open-world game that doesn't really have a lot meaningful to do outside of its brief main storyline. backloggd.com/u/PistonHyun...
PistonHyundai's review of Ultimate Spider-Man | Backloggd
Ultimate Spider-Man came at an interesting time for open-world games, nestled squarely between that initial post-GTA3 gold rush—where competitors like True Crime and Driv3r were rushed out the door, o...

sometimes old pc games require fan-patching on modern systems sometimes those patches break more than they fix, sometimes i miss a spot when installing, and sometimes it all becomes a bit of a perfect storm
I keep seeing “hotd” around here and every sodding time I have to remind myself that nobody is talking about The House of the Dead D:
The Geneva Convention states that a prisoner of war is only required to give the "Big Four" to their captors: the date the game they preordered came out, the name of the game, the game's tagline, and the store they preordered at.

The thing that fucks me up about this skit is that that's totally the Earthbound font in there.
Exclusive leaked Marvel Doomsday footage of Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) using Cerebro in X-Mansion to track down the other missing superheroes
When people say Kenji Eno was a genius, this is what they're talking about. This, that mahjong game where you're a superhero beating up old perverts, and that weightlifting button-masher minigame where the winner is labeled "GOOD" and the loser is labeled "BITCH."
Perfect character select screen. Absolutely peerless vibes. There is no question I want a video game to ask me more than "which robot do you like?"
More video games should have a random dude shouting "WAAAAAAAR" before their biggest fights like Serious Sam does.
