Used to spend forever in the game aisle looking at box art. I’d get a game and look endlessly at the art in instruction booklets. Used to set the boxes on my bedroom window sill like posters. Been coming a while, but it’s sad to see that has almost finally vanished for kids who love art and games.
Watch Hoppers. It’s great. Totally underserved by its marketing.

Growing up, I constantly heard “art is a hobby not a job”. For some, things don’t have value without monetization. Corporations want you to feel that too. As a pro artist, the arts give a voice to the voiceless. They give a mind to the mindless. They unite us. Don’t stop. The value is beyond money.
Thought art friends and appreciators might value these words from students: My day job is as an art educator, a couple middle grade (beginner not particularly interested in art) students asked me about AI art. So, I asked them their thoughts first, and they said two things:
An update to an old piece! My family and I are expecting a new addition to our family later this year.
This year, I’m finally going to start figuring out how to use some kind of game engine. I think I can make some cool things.
