I understood the Nats offseason choices at the time, so I can’t complain too much. But if this team had just spent a little on pitching then this season looks so different
You can’t tell me this isn’t a still from a late season episode of Tales From The Crypt

Give me a time machine, Vincent Price, and we’re doing a Corman Poe Cycle film with The Muppets
Name 2 film franchises that need a crossover film.
The Kremlin and Bluesky thinks I’ve hacked this account. But they’ll only slowly understand why most days this is me:
Well, this explains a lot of your behavior. www.nytimes.com/2026/05/21/b...

Tiny Toon Adventures Fruit Snacks (1991-circa 1993): A line of fruit punch-flavored fruit snacks, shaped like the faces of the characters from "Tiny Toon Adventures", including Buster, Babs, Plucky Duck, Hamton, Dizzy Devil, Montana Max, Fifi, Elmyra, Shirley, and more
“raise your hand if you or someone you know is stuck in a crappy job you hate bc you need the insurance” would go hard as a line at a political rally

A really good piece about anger and politics. It made me think how the elite successful politicians also tend to be happy warriors. People want fighters! But fighting FOR something and not just from rage can clarify choices. Plus you just win people over. There’s a reason Reagan won in a landslide
Everyone's angry all the time now, we spend out time on machines that are designed to make us mad. What's that doing to our judgment?
You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is 'Never get involved in a land war in Asia,' but only slightly less well-known is this: 'Never park the bus in the knockout rounds’
“It features John Astin reprising his Professor Gangreen role from the previous sequels” Omg I can’t wait

I’m cool with Matt Vasgersian, he’s not bad But small part of me does wish MLB & Netflix got Chris Berman back back back backback backbackback on the mic for the Derby for old times sake
I’m guessing Jimmy Stewart’s tiny apartment in Rear Window would cost something insane like $1.6 million nowadays #TCMParty
Fascinating thread on the gig economy and how it uses its workers
Here's an irony: the "gig economy" is a statistical black hole. Workers, customers and regulators know very little about the most basic aspects of it: how much workers get paid, for example, or much unpaid time on the clock a worker puts in before they get a job from the app. 1/
Happy #LetterboxdFriday! What's your #LastFourWatched? This week I had a weak summer slasher, a solid 4th of July slasher*, a compelling love story, and the best darn sheep sleuths in the world *We as a country need more 4th of July themed horror!
Happy #LetterboxdFriday! What's YOUR #LastFourWatched? I observed a zombified party time for my July 3rd tradition before heading to Amity for my annual July 4th viewing of my fave film, questioned the safety practices of some knuckleheads, and spied on a steamy surveillance thriller. #Letterboxd

The art with Pink Floyd’s albums entranced me when I was young and it still brings round a mix of emotions I associate with my youth
Art question 🎨 What painting, photograph, sculpture, or piece of visual art has stayed with you long after you first saw it? Not necessarily your favorite. The one that lingered.

this is absolutely wild. where does roberts think these agencies come from?!? who invested them with authority to act? whose mandate are they designed to execute? the president is the chief EXECUTive. his job is executing the will of Congress as it spells out in its duly-passed laws!
Yes, Congress should be able to do these things. A court this contemptuous of Congress deserves to be packed by Congress, not only to correct these disastrous precedents but also because Congress needs to show both Article II and Article III who’s boss.
Happy #LetterboxdFriday! What's your #LastFourWatched? My week included: • A terrible 50s B movie • Bava’s classic first solo feature • A big dumb movie that was an absolute blast • And a Chuck Jones masterpiece
Happy #LetterboxdFriday! What's YOUR #LastFourWatched? Bruce Campbell's birthday week? Groovy. I tensed up from a botched heist, went over the moon as Bruce & Walter Koenig fought cyborgs, struck it rich w/ Alyssa Milano, & hit the road w/ Herbie the Love Bug. Hail to the King, baby. #Letterboxd
