So apparently the Jehovah's Witness Watchtower just changed the rules to allow blood component transfusions. Which is kind of like an Orthodox synagogue saying you no longer need to follow kosher rules, or a Salafist Imam saying the hijab can be substituted with modern formal clothing. I'm shocked.

As expected, cracks are starting to show in the battlefield dominance of drones. Like machine guns in WW1, a tactical technological problem is finding operational doctrinal solutions. No matter how good your drones, you'll lose if the drones can't make it to the front and your operators are dead.

Thinking back to that one time that McDonald's psyoped the whole world into thinking a 79 year old woman who spilt coffee on herself was suing them because she didn't realize coffee was hot, when in reality she'd received third degree burns on her lap within seconds of the coffee landing on her.

The biggest lie in modern US politics is the CIA tricked the public into supporting invading Iraq. In truth it was bipartisan in 2003/4 that we hadn't killed enough Middle Easterners yet, and Iraq was a convient target. Opinion only turned against GWOT in 2011. It's a 21st century Lost Cause myth.

If I was on death row and had two botched injections just put a bullet in the back of my head and be done with it. What kind of sadistic shit is this to spend a week reviving someone just to execute them later? This is all just to make pro-death penalty people feel better about what they're doing.

I finally figured out why MSNBC pisses me off so much. All the pundits always have ear-to-ear grins and sparkles in their eyes whenever they talk about current events. They behave as if everything happening is gossip fodder for the water cooler, and it's so clear none of them are affected by it.

The Russians are expecting us to believe that an anti-plague researcher just so happened to be infected by an unknown pathogen that's definitely not pneumonic plague, but that causes fatal pneumonia potentially contagious enough to require a lockdown. What a fascinating coincidence that is.

Okay, I am slightly less sleep deprived. Let me explain. It's not the nature of the incident in and of itself that worried me. An anti-plague institute having a death from plague is not inherently suspicious or worrying. What's worrying is the intense, Moscow-led response and immediate censorship.

I am extremely worried about what is going on in Irkutsk, Russia right now. If this really turns out to be pneumonic plague then it is very possible it is a Soviet/Russian bioweaponized version. The location is right ("former" bioweapon research location) and the Russian admin seems panicked.

Regardless of whether the outbreak in Russia is a bioweapon or not, pneumonic plague is extremely serious in either form and has the potential to become a pandemic. Obviously a natural form is much easier to contain, but in either case consider the risk compared to the price of some good PPE.
