The PF2e/SF2e systems for Foundry VTT are not, and will not be, affected by the end of the Paizo-AoN partnership. As long as our awesome volunteers are willing to maintain the systems that have been such a boon to our community, we will continue supplying them with the resources they need to do so.

Time to kick the elephant out of the room: Yes, I'm one of the people Paizo's laying off, my last day being July 7th. My heart is broken to leave the best team I've ever worked with - a team I've learned so much from. If you know of any game designer or developer openings, I'd love to talk to you.

I guess I can say it now: I'm one of the folks hit by the Paizo layoffs. My last day will be in early July. I'm devastated. I love the folks I've worked with the past three years. I love the fans. I love the games we made. If you have an opening for a remote editor, I'd love to hear from you.

Hopefully WotC does the right thing and voluntarily accepts the union (they won't), but regardless, the real challenge is what comes next: not just negotiating a strong contract, but actually holding management accountable when they inevitably begin ignoring and, eventually, flagrantly violating it.

For Labor Day, I wanted to talk about the success of Paizo's unionization. We formed United Paizo Workers in October 2021, won voluntary recognition, and ratified our first contract in 2023. This happened because of solidarity, good union training from CWA, and empowerment of the workers.
