The good news is no one is being fooled. Not Russia, not Ukraine, not Europe… Well, maybe the Fox News audience… The only reason it is happening is so that Putin can show his ability to lead the US around like they are on a leash, and Ukraine is allowing it as they understand they cannot be seen to

What a shock--Trump sends Witkoff and Kushner to meet first with Putin and reach an understanding, and naturally the Ukrainians have to say no. The idea that the US could be an honest broker in this war is madness. It is a stalking horse for the Russian dictator.

Nazism didn’t begin with concentration camps. It began with scapegoating, dehumanisation and far-right extremism becoming normalised. Germany, of all countries, knows where that road can lead. The AfD’s result in Saxony-Anhalt should frighten us all.

The rest of the world looks at Trump renaming Lake Ontario “Lake America” and thinks what an idiot. Millions of MAGA Americans think: “Yep. That’s my guy” At what point do we stop asking what’s wrong with Trump and start asking what’s wrong with them? news.sky.com/story/trump-...

True but it’s also a country where Jeremy Clarkson gets paid a fortune to describe Gordon Brown as a ‘one-eyed Scottish idiot’ or fantasise about a crowd of thugs hurling excrement at a naked Duchess of Sussex. And where Dick Littlejohn gets called out for cruelty by a coroner at a suicide inquest.

For Fathers' Day, Keir Starmer posts a photo of his own father, who died in 2018, and a non-political message. The replies are a torrent of vitriol & cruelty, all with hundreds of Likes. We complain a lot about the quality of leadership, but there's a huge problem with the way we treat politicians
