It’s so humid my potato chips when from crispy to soggy in less than 30 minutes. 😅

InfoSec Director for non-profits (Nation State threats, non-profit budgets!) I talk mostly about Cybersecurity and Tech but occasionally cats (got my handle from one of them), urbanism, transportation politics and woodworking. My tweets are my own.
From a coworker: Even Copilot agrees that "Microsofting" should be a valid verb 😆
Can #Microsoft please talk to #Microsoft about Zero Trust?!? The Security side talks about how we should have separate privileged accounts with no mailboxes, etc. But if you want to set up Opal (Frontier) you need GA, Copilot, Intune & P1 assigned to the account. How in the world is that Zero Trust!
@mssharepoint.bsky.social is a SharePoint page really so complex that moving between sites is a non-starter? For all the modernization that’s been done, it’s surprising that you can’t move aSharePoint page/News Postcfrom one site to another. Even unpublished drafts!
Microsoft says ClickFix was the #1 initial access method of 2025 — 47% of observed attacks. No exploit, no malicious attachment. The user pastes a command into the Run dialog and compromises themselves. So how do you detect a technique with no payload at the perimeter? 🧵
it's especially funny because demand for air conditioning is highest when solar irradiation is at its most intense and you know what also happens when solar irradiation is at its most intense? solar panel go brr
When you start noticing it, it’s astonishing how many people who claim air conditioning is wasteful and extravagant would never, ever apply that logic to heating (which uses more resources than AC!)
If Elon Musk never makes a single penny more of income he would need to spend over $68 million A DAY for the rest of his life before he’d be out of money. No one needs that kind of wealth while children are starving and people are forced into bankruptcy to survive cancer (even with health insurance)
About 45% of pet ownership is walking by them and badly singing little songs that integrate their names. If you can’t do this, then I’m sorry, you are not ready for the responsibilities of owning a pet.
I don’t know who at Apple thought but the Delete Event button at the bottom of the screen where you need to swip up to exit, but my 80 year old mom keeps deleting appointments from her calendar because of that UI choice. Can we at least get an undo option on deletes in shared calendars?
Your Conditional Access policies probably have gaps you don't know about I talked to Emilien Socchi about how he built an engine that tests 250 MILLION sign-in combos in <20 minutes. Runs Offline. No Throttling. No Limits. Watch at entra.news/p/finding...
Apple iOS calendar UX is so horrible. Why would you put “Delete Event” at the very bottom right where you need to swipe up to exit the app, especially with no confirmation!?! My elderly mom keeps deleting doctors appointments from her calendar 🤬
Microsoft just announced official support to store device bound Passkeys for Entra ID in the Windows Hello container. No app, no external hardware key but built in support. Sadly no attestation while in preview. mc.merill.net/message/MC12... #Passkey #EntraID

What are preferred methods to lock someone out of a remote Intune managed computer? Any that work well in a hybrid configuration? Our best solution to date is a push of a “deny local login” policy in advance and a forced reboot. @nathanmcnulty.com @merill.net @fabian.bader.cloud
easy slogan for the next democratic presidential candidate is “i will reform the corrupt supreme court and repeal citizens united”
“When Citizens United was decided in 2010, billionaires had spent $18 million on the 2000 election, $13M 2004 and $16M in 2008. Then came the deluge. In 2012 it was $231M, and nearly doubled again in next three election cycles —to $682M in 2016, $1.2 billion in 2020 and $2.6 billion in 2024.” Gift:
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like #Microsoft creates a service with minimal controls, makes it available to everyone in a tenant by default and then comes around after things are a mess to sell you a governance solution…which just happens to be Premium plan pricing?
We now live in a world where people use AI to generate content, pass that content to someone else who uses AI to summarize the content. AI’s real value is in identifying busy work and eliminating it.
We need a lot more of this! I’d love to take this curriculum to Senior Centers!
High school students learn to identify AI deepfakes and fake content as digital deception causes $12.5 billion in fraud and threatens elections.

But you need the moderates to begin with. Overturning R v. W was decades long effort to move the needle. If you come out of the gate with Abolish ICE you are going to turn people off. Instead why not talk about containing and restraining ICE. Win and then make the big changes.
Part of the reason the justices were able to deny it and maintain support was credulous coverage and the reassurance from the rest of the republican party that they were lying. We need the radicals and the moderates and the people who are radicals pretending to be moderates to do stuff.
That Republicans think they have less fraud in their ranks and so feel comfortable targeting political appointees for fraud is a…choice.
Through the Big Ugly Law, Trump will give $117 billion in tax cuts to the top 1% this year. With that money, we could keep health care affordable for 22 million people each year for decades — with plenty to spare.
