Damn, I will never be able to work on M103. Freed from sdkfz 250, I was playing with my backlog and other figures, accidentally I came up with something with great potential: Cut tree and other engineering works on empty space. I need to plan it better, but these two guys fit together so well.

#rant Mini painting and scale model making youtubers, please take care of your fooking fingernails, there is so much of good stuff that is hard to watch because of that.
Another one, tall figures in bigger scales are inconvenient to hold in a hand. My solution? Put them in a hole, that moves center of the weigh lower and allows easy access to top parts, also works for 1/35 figures.
And third thing, I made a handle for small vice, love that thing, super handy.
For quite some time I was looking for a solution to stably mount tanks and dioramas for painting. Engraving handles didn't work - too short, and had only one lock. Found this inverted panoramic head from Ulanzi, good stuff, I have spherical and a pan, quick change plates and the handle is stable.
Been enjoying some woodworking instead of painting. Also found some old ebony keys that I can use for making inlays.
Did take a longer break. Returned with painting handles made from some nice woods, to finish in spare time. Something that I did because I was too cheap, turned into enjoyable project, and I made some really useful ones.
Added second hen, scythe and some cut branches. Almost finish of this miserable project. #WIP #scalemodels

Got 3 ambitious figures from Nerkisson, 140, 90 and 75mm. I have that problem that I can't decide and can't stop brain from analyzing. 140mm has more details but is harder to handle than 75mm, I cant imagine painting that 75 in 140, I don't have that much attention span. On the other hand, details.
Ivory head of the staff and that gilded whatever-it-is on her head. Requires minor cleaning and adjustment of reflections. Eyes, chest, 'clothing' and base TBD.
I'm so jealous of people who can paint clean warhammer figs. I hope more practice will help.
I don't like metallics, something about the fact that they look good only from one angle and it's hard to keep track of reflections. And with this one I got into a swamp, there is quite a lot of them. For future I need to find a workaround with other materials than metals, ie enamels or something.
A bit of highlighting, and playing with camera, cleaner pictures. Tho it's cruel in pointing out every paint stroke and dust that I missed with magnifiers. Painting face shows how cheaply printed the figure is, I had 1/35 with better details. But the whole figure is good, fun to paint.
I would say good work today, nice progress on the skin. Face and chest are yet to be done, some tricky corners ahead. Pity that I can proper photos, I need to prepare consistent environment for shooting. 75mm from Kuton #WIP #minipainting
Is it me or Redgrass reusable membranes are shedding fibers? I didn't notice anything like that for past year with regular parchment sheets. I cleaned them only with damp dust-free microfiber cloth, and these fibers are clearly from paper. Kinda bummer, I like how they balance paint hydration.
Shading skin is hard, but I'm learning. Color choice, brush control, eye. Never thought I will be capable of that.

I went with darker skin and white robe, I'm not going crazy with details for now - I prioritize finishing it first. Other colors not yet decided.
And I finally decided to take serious project. 90mm Sun Elf Snake Sorceress from DM Stash. Crude but well done details, I think it will be easy to itemize work and finally finish something.
I also did this, because I'm too cheap to buy Opus painting handle. Ant then I combined both into something magical.
Had access to vertical drill lately, did some improvement to UStar's painting handle. I like to have ability to keep minis attached to cork, be able to rotate them and quickly move them between various DIY handles. #minipainting

Glazed him with orange-yellow skintones and tan paints, that get rid of sickly whites and put some warmth in the shadows. He looks more weathered and less sick now. I think it's good direction #WIP #minipainting
