One thing I want to normalize in my lil company is the idea that if you're helping us build something, you get a lifetime cut of the project's revenue. Women of Xal I and II do it for the artists, but as our projects expand, I hope it'll apply to more fields and attract more talent big and small.

I'm seeing articles and posts talking about how AI use affects sales, extrapolating from how many reviews the game gets. With them citing some of the games getting well over 100 reviews. AI games get more reviews and sales than "Women of Xal" , too? I am clearly being targeted by a spiteful god.

My Twitter account has been suspended. I can't say I'm gutted; the site suppressed my Kickstarter so hard that literally ZERO people clicked its link, despite having more followers there than here at the time. And don't worry about that email. It's a dead email that's inactive and for Twitter only.

Any writer here a victim of overtly personalized standards? I'll explain: Your writing is a specific thing, probably even a good thing. But because it's not giving clean ethical statements, tropes, and rehashed messages, there's a tragic misunderstanding of what your story actually is and saying?

I stopped watching The Boys after Season 3. It was a bit... much for me. And it was compounded by the fact I found out the showrunner was the same one who did the first 5 seasons of Supernatural. A writer who mastered killing women off and having mundane finales. Did he learn much since the 2000s?

There needs to be a conversation where I can sit down with the lot of 'em and ask: Why don't you want to create this stuff yourself? It's absolutely terrifying what people are accepting from AI. Like, come on. Even the most creatively inept should want to think of the characters!

Women of Xal II's main script is on the epilogue now. I suspect it'll be done by the end of the week.

These new promotional posters are SO good. May will be feeding all sorts of WoX fans! Not just in progress, but in new art, too! I would say the new set of promotional art spoils big stuff. But like, you'd have to be on some Death Note's L's timing to piece together what it all means.

I don't think it's unreasonable to defend games that are overly criticized for the story! FFXIII has like, five good story moments! Star Ocean 3? Bold storytelling! Resonance of Fate? Lovely characterization! Three Houses? I have a heart, so. Fire Emblem: Engage?

So! Creatives, what stories did your fans think you were inspired by, but never knew about or experienced until after you finished your own writing? For me, it was Re:Zero. I didn't know anything about it except people spoiled that a girl died in season 1 (lol). But now I'm taking anime NOTES.

For the curious: I update Kickstarter once a month, typically on the 30th or on the 1st. I might delay it a few days if I'm told a juicy update is coming. However, small stuff like sketches, visuals, and what have you will be dropped here weekly. Sometimes it's me being a nerd about the writing.

I don't want to get anyone too excited, but Women of Xal II's script is FEROCIOUS in a way the first game could only build up to. The pacing is brisk, the twists and turns keep coming, and it's actually the optional character arcs that slow things down. (Whereas in the original, it was the setup)
