PARTY MAN X

Have a fascination for your cyber mind

for a while i've just kind of taken "local AI models will take off when the data centers prove unsustainable" people at their word and now I'm seeing jetbrains is requiring 64gb memory on an apple m5 and they're working on rtx 5090. it's a text editor man have you lost your mind (rhetorical)

had a dream a few nights ago there was a speedrunner just named "twocigarettes" whose thing was that he always had two lit cigs in his mouth while doing runs. we let him on the gdq stage and told him the cigs couldn't be lit so he did a full run of call of duty 4 with two unlit cigs in his mouth

installed linux (fedora kde) on my desktop which took about 30 minutes to set up in total. had to stick a new gpu in to make it work well with dual booting, which took maybe longer (including having to take the case off of a capture card for it to fit). it is the year of linux on the desktop

There should be a button next to the like button that just says "what?". I think this would be of use to both normal people seeing out-of-pocket posts and to perpetually confused What's Hot scrollers.

say what you will about AI, always-on voice recording and auto dictation has been a game changer for my workflows. Save post and close app. Yeah Footlong meatball sub on white. No veggies. Don't toast it. Ranch and barbecue sauce. Yeah, ranch and bargecue sauce. More. More. Little more please

livesplit seems to be getting taken over with vibecoded slop. really disappointing. it's really too bad that the old autosplitter scripting essentially locked people into it

i've been thinking a lot about level editors lately so recently i was looking at what ids latest level editor is like. the documentation mentions that there are brush tools but essentially says "use them for greybox only and even then don't" and suggests modular meshes which feels so disappointing

man it’s weird to still see “AI ready” computers now that things have more or less coalesced into just the cloud stuff. like yeah, it can go to a web site. i know it’s marketing for stupid people but still

there should be somewhere you can email or call to report when a road or sidewalk is messed up but in a way where you also want to see someone nollie frontside flip it before its fixed

the year is 2030. your job is to purchase itunes gift cards for a company whose sole purpose is to give money to the richest man in america. if you work hard you might earn a bonus $10 off coupon code for betterhelp. once a month you can watch a five minute ad to get $1 off a slice of pizza

i got a steam machine and have been messing with it over the past day. it’s a really nice small computer, but it’s (obviously) nothing novel. also there are some surprising software shortcomings that really make it feel like it shipped exactly on time instead of being held for component shortages
