Dear fellow faculty. Don't be a jerk about student accomodations to the student. They are needs that our totally gutted educational culture has made necessary. I know it's a pain to deal with all the individual requirements, but you can design classes that accommodate most if not all.
Together with my mil, we got a used Ram 3500 for hauling needs. It has an armored grill & a gun rack. I love driving it blasting some indie band, while all the ranchers & wanna be cowboys on the front range stare with confused faces. I'm everything they expect, except the music.
Got to do one of my favorite things today, connect a grad student who does great work with the editor of a journal that this grad student will someday publish in.

With my book coming out Nov 24 I'm on the PoliSci/Phil/Soc/Humanities/PPE/SocialSciences job market. That said, I moved departments at my current place of employment & it's cool to be in a supportive dept that makes inclusive decisions/shares resources. I appreciate the chance to be a good colleague

Another reminder: if there exists *any* class of people who don't have due process rights, then *nobody* actually has due process rights because the government can always just say you're in that class.
A US-born woman born was confronted by sheriff deputies in Louisiana who were convinced her ID and social security card were fakes. They turned her over to ICE, who shackled her & took her an hour away. Even after a lawyer convinced ICE of the woman's citizenship the sheriff says they did no wrong
