It took only 37 hours of negotiations, but in an unexpected turn of events, The Good Time Boys have now acquired Netflix in one of the biggest mergers of this century.

It’s transgender awareness week. I have two trans kids who are comfortable in and proud of their identities. I hope I can answer a few questions I get frequently and help folks feel more comfortable and well-informed.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 31! THE FINAL GIRLS! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Now, normally, Halloween day is dedicated to two specific movies for me. The WNUF Halloween Special and Halloween 3: Season of the Witch... and don't worry, those movies will be watched today.

So here's the thing that confuses me... If that reality TV show guy is on THE LIST (which... yeah, obviously) Why doesn't he just instruct them to scratch his name off? Or lose the page, and then RELEASE THE FILES? How ingrained is this man in these files that they refuse to do even that?

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 30! THE SUBSTANCE! Body horror galore! A grotesque, satirical ride about aging, vanity, and identity. It’s equal parts disturbing and fascinating, with images that will absolutely burn into your brain.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 29! HUSH! A home invasion movie with a brilliant hook: the victim is deaf. The tension cranks up right away, and @flanaganfilm does a killer job keeping it tight and scary.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 28! TRUTH OR DARE! Not the Blumhouse one, this is the gorier SyFy channel version. A group of friends play an extreme game of “Truth or Dare,” and obviously, it goes very badly.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 27! THE RENTAL! Another “Airbnb gone wrong” flick, this time directed by Dave Franco. It starts like a slow-burning relationship drama and then, boom, slasher energy kicks in.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 26! DEVIL! Aw yeah! A “people stuck somewhere” flick! Super simple premise, solid tension, and enough paranoia to make you side-eye everyone.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 25! A WOUNDED FAWN! Yeeeeessss @joshruben at his Rubeniest! Trippy. Artsy. Bloody. This flick takes a pretty classic premise (woman goes to a cabin with a shady guy) and turns it into a surreal fever dream of Greek mythology, violence, and hallucinations.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 24! SE7EN! Certainly not the first flick you think of when you think "horror," but this David Fincher classic sits squarely in the horror genre! It's been a minute since I've enjoyed this one so... I picked it!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 23! XX! An all-female-directed horror anthology that covers a lot of ground. Like most anthologies, some shorts hit harder than others, but overall it’s stylish and unsettling in all the right places.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 22! MILK & SERIAL! Another "not quite a full-length movie" entry into the marathon, but one that absolutely deserves its spot! An indie short that’s a mix of horror, comedy, and absolute discomfort. But really, it's an hour long, so...not THAT short.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 21! THE CREEP TAPES! Technically not a movie, but who cares? It's my marathon, I do what I want!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 20! INSIDIOUS! I have no idea why I chose this one to be on the list this year. It's fine... lots of people have seen it. The first half of the movie leans heavily into creepy atmospherics, & then suddenly you’re in The Further with demon dudes and red-faced jump scares.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 19! SORGOI PRAKOV! Sorgoi Prakov (also known as Descent Into Darkness: My European Nightmare) is a “mockumentary” about a Romanian guy filming his slow descent into madness.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 18! CALL GIRL OF CTHULHU! First off, you should know I am obsessed with anything that comes from @chris.lamartina. A campy, low-budget love letter to H.P. Lovecraft with way more blood and tentacles than he could’ve ever imagined.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 17! DEADSTREAM! More "influencer" horror (I'm feeling a theme here) A canceled streamer tries to win back his fans by livestreaming himself spending the night in a haunted house. What could go wrong? Spoiler: everything.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 16! LAVALANTULA! Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like: giant lava-breathing tarantulas wreak havoc in L.A. Do you need to know anything else? Nope. Is it good? Not really. Is it basically a reunion of Police Academy actors? Absolutely.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 14! THE MONSTER! The Monster fits perfectly in my favorite genre of any movie: "People stuck somewhere." An uncomfortable mother/daughter relationship, a nighttime drive, & a "hidden" creature that they give away right on the poster. The Good Time Boys give it 3 SKULLS!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 13! SISSY! I am really on a binge of "influencer" movies this year, I guess, and Sissy stands out as a quality modern flick. A wellness influencer meets up with some old friends in a fancy cabin and guess what...shit goes south!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 12! HOUSE OF WAX! You know, as I was making my list this year, I really wanted to keep it in the 2000s. I mean, we've got 25 years of flicks to choose from... not every October needs to be packed with '80s & '90s slashers.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 11! HELLBENDER In this house, we stan the Adams family! And no, I didn't spell it wrong. The folk-horror-flick-making @adams.family.films consists of Toby Poser, John Adams, and their daughters, Lulu and Zelda.
