I forgot we weren't actually married, but now that you remind me... It's a little hard to do that after spontaneous baby acquisition and a cult stalking our home.

We’re alive. In a cottage by a stream with @postcanonviktor.bsky.social
After seeing the runes yesterday...Viktor nearly fainted and fell. Thankfully he protected Luna on the way down... The past 24 hours have been anything but peaceful.
Jayce knows that the first thing he does when he gets up can't be running into the forest, even though it's what he wants to do. Instead he gets up and prepares breakfast for himself and Viktor after giving Luna a quick bath.
“Viktor?” Jayce says before he adds, “do they stop if you end the connection?” He sees it again, the light, but this time it’s blaring from the edge of the woods. Jayce rushes to the gun, loads it, and runs out of their cottage.
Viktor nods. Looking down at their daughter he notices she isn't as upset anymore, she's looking at him like he has an answer to her confusion. The voices continue, some louder than others. Sometimes they overlap, sometimes they do not.
Jayce puts the gun and ammo someplace safe, but he still is unsure about it. “Viktor, do you know how to use one of these?”
Viktor has a migraine so I have peanut and am taking care of things while he rests. Yesterday took a lot out of him, I should have turned us around.
Jayce takes Viktor's hand and gives it a reassuring squeeze. "I promise that I'll protect you both. Whether it be some creep in the woods or a crowded street."
A small smile tugs at the corner of Viktor's lips. He reaches a hand to Jayce's. "Miluju tě. And you are mine, Miláček."
Jayce examines Viktor, he at an impasse. He can see how anxious Viktor is but getting something to protect their family is imperative. “Let’s just get a weapon and ammunition and head back.”
The thought of going home fills him with immense relief but also guilt. They made the journey here, Jayce had to walk, the least they can do is get what they came for. He is ... okay. Shaking his head Viktor grabs Jayce's hand and squeezes it. "I'm alright," he lies.
Jayce finishes strapping their empty bags to the horse. Right now, Viktor would be on the horse while Jayce walks her while wearing their daughter. "Peanut's first day on the town, think she's excited?"
Jayce spent the morning preparing the wood to reinforce the doors and windows. It needed to be done eventually, but after the other night he wasn't going to wait for eventually.
"Hey!" Jayce shouts, his fists tight around a hammer as he walks towards the person. He should have asked Viktor if he could feel the introducers intent. "I am going to need you to get off my property."
A chill runs down Jayce’s spine but it’s quickly taken over by anger. Standing up Jayce leaves the room and grabs anything he can use as a weapon if he needs to, if not it’ll just be an intimidation tactic.
With a lack of children's books, Jayce finds himself reading to the baby one of the scientific manuals he had bought. He reads clearly, but it's not as fun as reading a children's story. "I need to get fantasy books for her, she looks so bored..."
After setting things up for a while, the pair return to the house. Viktor had prepared some refreshments and a light snack before they head back out.
Urel has brought everything Jayce needs to get his home forge up and running, all they need to do now is finalize setting it up. There won't be much time to make anything with a baby, but soon there will be. Plus Jayce needs to think of the future, she won't be this little forever.
"Hah, I can't wait for that day. Where haven't we fucked in this house? We need to in the forge once it’s ready.” Now it's Jayce's turn to kiss at Viktor's neck and nibble at his ear.
Viktor giggles before rucking up his nightgown and shimming his underwear to thighs. "I don't need to pretend Lásko," he sighs when his fingers make contact with his clit, "You can do that to me whenever."
"Sleeping peacefully," Jayce admits. "Now..." Jayce hums as he pulls his pants down, "Why don't you give me some words of encouragement?"
Viktor blinks, "Um, yes I think that would be ideal." He watches as Jayce gets off their bed and gently lifts the crib out to the living room. When his partner returns he shuts the door and slides next to Viktor once more. "Is she asleep?"
I think it's time to start preparing a forge, when the growing season is over, I am going to need another way to make money... When there's snow on the ground, I don't know how much I'll want to travel away from peanut and Viktor in the snow.
//Don’t feel dumb, it’s not straightforward. The baby is Viktor and Jayce’s, she was made with the help of the arcane
Jayce is laying across from the baby on the floor, she's having tummy time and he is the stimulation in front of her. To the cats, it looks like mirroring, so they join in beside him. "Like this," Jayce explains as he lifts his head up, "Good job."
Sashelba stopped by with a few sweet treats and staples and said something pretty weird. Mentioned a strange group forming in town, it's making people uneasy. She suggested getting a guard dog.
Jayce walks out into the field near their house with their baby in his arms. “This is a sunset,” he points up, “sometimes your Tata’s eyes look like this.” She coos. “Glad you agree.”
Right before dawn, Jayce took the horse and headed into town. He planned to be back before Viktor woke up, but left a note saying he’d be back with the doctor anyway. He wasn’t specific in the note, which he realized was ominous when he’d already made it half way to town.
Viktor is standing beside their bed, his silhouette revealed only when the lightening dances across the room. "Shit," Jayce pulls his hand up with a laugh, "You scared me."
No response. Only the patter of rain outside and a low rumble of thunder can be heard. As Jayce scans the darkness of their room it is briefly illuminated by a strike of lightning.
Jayce turns to see that peanut is still asleep before turning again to realize that Viktor is, once again, not in his bed. *Dammit.* “Viktor?”
Rolling thunder causes Jayce to wake up. Their house shakes softly as rain pelts against the windows. As he lays there he mentally begins to go over storm protocol. Nothing is open, all the animals are inside. They should be good.

Jayce walks in, his own eyes are red as he’s reached the point of sobbing with her. He’s done EVERYTHING he can think of and he’s starting to wonder if something is wrong with her. “I’ve tried everything and nothing is working. Can you hold her? Maybe she’s sick? I don’t know.”
Viktor lays on the couch in the living room, Rio purring on his stomach. He's supposed to be taking a small nap but their daughter started crying about 40 minutes ago and has not stopped, no matter how much Jayce tries to soothe her. It's unusual, she's never done this before.
Viktor’s baking is not only beautiful, but delicious. It was hard not to bother him while he was working on this.
Haven't been in the mood for baking much lately but Sashelba came by and helped with some bread. She showed me how to make, eh, I suppose art on it. I didn't know bread could be so beautiful.
Peanut isn't happy with me right now; she keeps fighting sleep and cries when I rock her.
Doctor thinks the sleepwalking was just a one time thing, we are going to keep an eye on it as it’s only happened once.
