Speaking from my own direct experience, I think what we call "spiritual awakening" is actually the expansion of our capacity to be messy, to be sitting with our tears in a way no one else would understand, to be humbled, and to be fucked up while not abandoning ourselves.

There's a fine line between "being fully present to witness people's pain and support them through it" and "letting yourself be pulled this way and that way to accommodate others without limits". Neither feels comfortable. But one feels more like trust. Another feels more like being a doll.
It takes healing and dismantling deep-rooted programming to adopt a "both/and" perspective instead of an "either/or" one.
Sometimes, the ones who hurt women the worst are other women whose thoughts and actions are rooted in patriarchal mindsets.
