Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts

Advocating for sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice in New York.

Starting today, the Medical Aid in Dying Act is in effect in New York. For terminally ill New Yorkers, this law provides a compassionate end-of-life option and affirms that people should have the freedom to make deeply personal health care decisions about their own bodies.

Gender-affirming care is more than medical — it includes the care, information, and resources you need to feel the most like yourself. Affirming someone’s gender simply means honoring every person’s unique identity and experiences while providing the best care for all patients, no matter what.

Meet Lois, a longtime Planned Parenthood patient, supporter, and advocate. 💗 We sat down with Lois to hear about her experiences with Planned Parenthood, what our health centers have meant to her over the years, and why she's continued fighting for reproductive freedom. Get to know her story. ✨

Happy 250 years of freedom…for some. Today, we're thinking of the transgender and queer communities, immigrants, and marginalized people everywhere whose rights and safety are under attack.  We'll keep fighting until freedom, dignity, and bodily autonomy belong to ALL of us.

No ruling will ever change what we know to be true: trans youth deserve to play, to learn + to exist freely. Trans youth need to know their community is with them, no matter what the Supreme Court says. Share this post + leave a note of support so every trans young person knows they are not alone.💜

BREAKING: The Supreme Court ruled that states can ban transgender girls from school sports. This is a devastating ruling for trans students across the country who simply want the freedom to play with their friends.

Four years ago today, Roe v. Wade was overturned and we lost the federal right to abortion. Planned Parenthood health centers have been here every day since – and we’re not going anywhere.

It's been 4 years since the #Dobbs decision & abortion is still severely restricted across the US—with 13 states currently banning care entirely. Advocates & policymakers must champion a bold vision of access that goes beyond Roe, rooted in evidence & human rights to guarantee access for all.

In violet and black text on a white background, a definition of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization says, “The June 2022 US Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the federal constitutional right to abortion. Dobbs cleared the way for states to pass total abortion bans and bans on abortion beginning early in gestation, accelerating the loss of abortion access in many states.” In the top right hand corner, a yellow circle with navy blue text says, "Repro Rights 101."
