Have you read 'The Story of a Heart' yet? A must read for anyone inspired by #OrganDonation. The beautifully told story of Keira and Max - the young heart donor and recipient who inspired Max and Keira's Law. I will never forget my first read of the manuscript for @doctoroxford.bsky.social 🎄💗

Thrilled to see THE STORY OF A HEART selected as one of @theweek.com’s eight books of the year for 2024 🩷🫀🫁 #OrganDonation

I’ve made a starter pack of people who share a common interest in promoting donation in any/all of its forms - blood, organs, plasma or stem cells. Please let me know if you’d like to be added (or taken off) 💗🩸🙌 go.bsky.app/SbakMBL

Maggie, one of the first patients to undergo a full blood exchange, is calling on people to give the gift of blood this Christmas. We arranged for Maggie to rewatch a 1966 film called 'The Givers' filmed when she was just 17: www.mirror.co.uk/news/health/...

Family wouldn't exist if 'miracle baby' Maggie hadn't got NHS operation

Maggie Hackney’s life was saved by a pioneering blood transfusion the year the NHS was founded. Now she's appealing for Brits to donate a pint this Christmas

To help encourage more people to donate blood and organs we have awarded £600,000 in grants to 51 community groups. The South Asian Heritage Trust is one of the successful recipients and will use the funding to raise awareness about organ donation with South Asian communities.

Grateful to Peter Hitchens for highlighting the importance of giving blood. We know donating can have its challenges, but just 1hr of your time can save up to 3 lives🩸we have a particular need for O negative and B negative blood right now. #NHS #SaveLives

Why, amid a national shortage, you should 'give an armful' of blood

Blood donation was once much more a part of normal life. Now millions regard it as an old-fashioned middle-aged suburban activity, which is somehow no longer necessary.
