Now that we all can have a magic genie one-shot our ideas, there seems to be this thinking that we have elevated to a new level. This needs to be balanced by understanding that this leverage doesn’t guarantee the composability of these one-shotted ideas. x.com/psswordprote...

the power of "one-shot ideas", insights that become available in a moments notice, is that if sufficiently chunked can percolate into a much bigger abstraction, a whole that captures the essence of th...

At times I feel like the world is a room for a long-wrought mutual therapy session where we have co-hired people in our lives to bring out our demons lurking inside us in order to integrate the shadow side with our Self.

I read “Already Free” by Bruce Tift, and it completely reconfigured the way I see relationships. It describes how our childhood survival mechanisms get perpetuated into adulthood and become our coping mechanisms that hinder how we connect in our relationships.

The horse-shoe theory of AI research: There are two types of researchers using AI: the dumb ones who generate slop that flood publishers, and the smart ones who are busy accelerating themselves out of business. Both seem directed towards the same end.

Saw some health influencers pushing supplements like Creatine, L-Glutamine, Magnesium, Collagen etc. How did thousands of generations before me do fine without any of these? Did we screw up our environment so bad that chugging pills have become a necessity to our well-being?

I see devs spending vastly more than ever on productivity tools like LLMs, but from the outside, there doesn’t seem to be any uptick in the quality of software I use; neither have I spotted any radical software built with LLMs. What am I missing?

🪄 Spreadsheet functions can often times be hard for a user to figure out naturally. Here, we devised a friendlier, step-by-step guide right next to the cursor to ease the process. It nicely augments spreadsheets' direct manipulation interface with live context-sensitive feedback.

For our foundational research into spreadsheets, we dug into the rich literature around it. Rolling out reviews of papers we read as part of this project. Here’s our review of Nardi and Miller’s 1990 paper — The Spreadsheet Interface: prabros.com/bean/blog/sp...

If you truly love something, let it go, and no, there’s no guarantee of it ever coming back and it proving it was truly yours. Your selfless willingness to sacrifice what you love is how you discover it was true love and not some ego-driven possession game.

A school friend recommended “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle as a life-changing book for him in his 20s. Good thing we didn’t talk when he had his epiphany, for the hardcore rationalist in me at the time would have rejected the book after reading a few pages.
