I worry a lot about people losing their grip on reality and the ability to have conversations with real people who don’t respond like sycophantic LLMs. People are starting to voluntarily give up the very things that constitute humanity because LLMs are so convenient, so addictive, and so fawning.

I was meeting with a student to review her script for a presentation, and she wrote "if you search up articles on...". I stopped to ask if she realized that "search up" was a change in progress, and she had NO CLUE! This is one of my favorite types of change, because it's just a little camouflaged!
