Mara is a space opera about messy characters in an oppressive universe. Inspired in equal parts by the corrosive influence of genAI, the Buddhist concepts of reality, psychic powers, trans autonomy, and anarchist ideals, it's a both a page turning ride and a very personal encouragement to survive.

A compelling story set in space about the intersection of religion and politics and how far people are willing to go to keep the status quo in both. Truly excellent and I can't recommend it enough!

As an author this is *big*, and something I hope folks do (and not just because I'm in this position myself) Your first book is so much of a learning experience. And perhaps also your first major public feedback. You absorb and grow, and then jump into your second book determined. At least I did 😅

But then reading their 2nd book and finding that you cannot remember what one of those complaints were because book 2 is just so good. 1/
We've been cheeky about what Mara IS NOT, so what IS Mara? At its heart, Mara is about the struggle against oppression (internal, local, and galactic) with messy, flawed characters. Relatably human, even with an android messiah at its center! Both epic and heartfelt. prismata-press.itch.io/mara
