One of the great joys of my adult life has been realizing that I can just pick up a new skill every so often, take a fun little class in it weekly for a year or two, and simply enjoy meeting people and getting medium proficient and not attempting to become professional in it at all!

If I could use AI only when I choose to, in the ways I choose, I wouldn't hate it so much. I've used Wolfram Alpha for years, and I appreciate being able to ask questions using natural language. But I am very against generative AI because of its resource hogging and intellectual theft.
